Richard devens came to play at our home for a Christmas eve gathering. He was anamazing and very talented pianist. He was extremely professional and would gladly have him come back again. He made the party!

Richard performed at the cocktail hour prior to my wedding reception. He was excellent and my guests enjoyed him very much! Richard was a pleasure to work with. He was prompt, professional and musically excellent. He played the special pieces I requested and did some research trying to locate a more obscure piece. He did an outstanding job of judging the music tempo and volume needed for a crowd of 160. He responded quickly and we had a good phone conversation at the outset. I would eagerly hire him again for another event.

When we spoke over the telephone, Mr. Devens was very professional and seemed very conscientious. When he played the piano over the phone, all the music sounded beautiful. He was on time to the venue and very nice. However, we were very disappointed at his electronic keyboard abilities during the ceremony. He did not know how to work the electronic keyboard, such as plugging it in or changing its sound from organ to piano, etc. He also stopped playing several times when bridesmaids/flowergirls, were walking down the aisle. He seemed very disconnected.

Richard is lovely and plays very well. Alas, what we really needed was an accompanist to encourage the crowd to sing along. That is a different talent that Richard did not have.
