Marilyn was awesome. She was totally willing to work with a couple of our musician friends to do a some songs during the wedding ceremony. And they turned out great! She also played good background music while people milled about before hand. She was very punctual, which I liked because I tend to freak out if people I depend on aren't on time or early. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, she was friendly and professional. Exactly what we needed. Hire her!

I planned my wedding in Austin from out of state (New Jersey). Marilyn was very accomodating, professional, met with me before the wedding day and took the time to learn a few new songs for my ceremony. It was a leap of faith hiring someone with which I hadn't worked before, but she did a very good job.

Marilyn Rucker is a versatile performer. Her music set the mood at the event, it was soft enough that everyone was able to hear it clearly and still hold conversations. actually Marilyn was unable to play due to illness; however, she found an excellent replacement to play the party & he did a great job!

Marylin and her band have great talent and songs. Unfortunately this didn't come through at our wedding. The acoustics/sound were poor. Also Marilyn could not accomodate our request to play during dinner, which impacted our wedding vibe significantly. However she is very responsive, was flexible on the duration of play, showed up on time and as I said, sings great. So overall I would recommend her to a friend.

We had sound problems due to the hotel's elderly electrical systems interfacing poorly with my drummer's sound system, which I do not intend to use in the future. We did play during the dinner hour, but the hotel made us keep the volume low becasue they didn't have "live music" permits. It was a difficult situation overall, but I think we did a good job overcoming these problems and persevering.

The best thing about Ms. Rucker was that she was flexible and more than willing to meet our needs. She was also knowledgeable which helped since this was our first wedding. AND she arrived 15 minutes early. Highly recommended!
