Harold is a nice and wonderful man. He made the kids laugh and did great balloons. I do not believe he should advertise that he does face painting. It was not very good.

:

I appreciate all feedback. This lady was an awesome hostess. As far as service goes...There is always a guarantee and a redo option on balloon twisting and face painting. For those considering face painting....Some upgrades are in the works for face painting. Also...Please note...I am a variety entertainer. Because of balloon twisting popularity, I do about a dozen balloon twisting or magic events to one face painting event. And then, of that number, because of extra cost and time constraints, about two thirds are cheek art. I extend my apologies to her on the face painting portion of the event.

:

A basic satisfaction guarantee comes with every event. Client did not feel the need to use hers. (A portion of the performance can be canceled (at an immediate cost reduction)...a face can be repainted ... a sculpture retwisted or freshly made while we are there.) Therefore our interpretation is ... basically satisfied with her event.

Community EventReviewed on June 20, 2016From Douglas, MI

They were very friendly and nice, but started very late (over 45 minutes after scheduled start time) and they did not offer any kind of discount for their tardiness. We had a lot of disappointed kids waiting around.

:

We were a few minutes late (less than 10 due to traffic and long distance driving) not 45 minutes late. They were notified by phone. Sadly, they were unprepared for our arrival and had to re adjust the area which took the time use they are using as us being late. They had 4-5 kids there which were waiting. Our set-up time is less than 10 minutes. We do offer compensation on extreme tardiness. (Not the case here.) Otherwise, for minor lateness, we often upgrade skill level to include a few Deluxe designs which we did to their benifit. After set-up everything went as planned with a normal flow of kids about 15 minutes later as more customers arrived for lunch.

I thought I was getting a clown do a few little tricks (magic skit) and make some fancy balloons with face painting. I wanted the kids to go goo-goo and ga-ga over the clown. This did not happen. He came was not dressed as a clown b/c he says that is not was I requested. His balloon making was very simple, I could have done those. Face painting was horrible. He even told the kids that their design will not look like the picture and he was right, they looked nothing like the picture. I think the kids had more fun in the bouncy house than the interest in the clown. Would not recommend him to anyone.

:

After 30+ years in the biz, I am still saddened when a client isn't happy with our service. Somehow, she missed or misunderstood the last sentence of the quote about prep costs for a clown. As for the balloon twisting, different skill levels are offered for events. Parents pick the skill range for the event. However, ultimately, the children decide what item they want. As all twisters know, the balloon dog and the sword, although simple to make, are still very popular even when fancier twisting is offered. Like snowflakes, no two faces are the same. True Facial Artists make each face an original work of art. We offer simitudes. Some like that, others do not.

Club EventReviewed on December 9, 2018From Utica, MI

I would not recommend this vendor, I received a phone call 30 minutes before my event was to begin that they were running an hour behind schedule. This time delay was due only to poor lack of planning and preparation. At the time that I was told this vendor would be at our facility I made a phone call no voicemail was set up to leave a message, I then text-no response. Thinking that they were not showing up, my company put our back up plan in place. I called again and let the vendor know we would no longer be needing their services. Our event absolutely suffered due to this company’s poor lack of preparation, communication, and professionalism.

:

What we have here is someone that misread the quote. We are very upfront with all quotes and plainly state our available start time for their area and a method whereby they could have us earlier with overnight lodging by request/cost consideration. She still booked, gave permission when notified of a delay and ETA, to continue coming anyway, requested an illegal text during driving 110 miles long distance (Which we do..some do not), then all for nothing and also break the hearts of little children wanting to see Santa by cancelling two minutes before our arrival. Then, she Rant Vents? Sad. We, over 38 years, have hundreds of very satisfied and rebooking clients!

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on June 5, 2016From South Haven, MI

This was a total bust. Harold was not well received. He basically read from a piece of paper. He was not funny or entertaining. After eight minutes of his 30 minute gig he was cut off and asked not to proceed. Definitely would not to any other adult parties.

:

The comedy roast was put together last minute out of courtesy to the client. Normally, I just deliver balloons, do a couple of magic tricks, tell astory or a couple of jokes, and sing. The audience laughed and enjoyed the program with balloon twisting after. At least several commented directly to me and said so after the program. Some material was only meant to be humorous not outright laughter. I stood in for this person submitting the review who could not attend. (Illegal hearsay cannot be posted) Furthermore, I finished what I had for the program as the candles were lit on the cake as scheduled with the balloon twisting after to complete my time as planned.

He was a hour late, didn't introduce himself to the kids and he brought his son along that didn't appear to have any reason for being there...Overall Not Very Dynamic at all. My daughter was very disappointed.

PicnicReviewed on May 31, 2014From Westland, MI

Showed up 1 hour late due to traffic and unfortunately we were not happy when we were not informed they were running late.

:

At Twist A Mint Balloons we strive to excel in every aspect of our profession. It is our policy to call the client as soon as we learn of a difficulty that delays our arrival. Unfortunately, by oversight, we left the client's phone number home. For this, the inconvenience, and unavoidable tardiness, we sincerely appologize. As soon as we became aware that we would be delayed by traffic congestion and before we learned that it was due to an accident, we called to our message service and left word that we would be delayed in our arrival. This was well over an hour before our start time. Longer Distance traveling can have it's setbacks. This was one of them.

High School ReunionReviewed on July 29, 2018From Ravenna, MI

we ordered adult entertainment for our 40th class reunion.specifically table magic during dinner hour. he came after dinner was done with 2 very unkempt people.mr Gunderson was very unkept.suit very wrinkled n dirty he wanted to introduce himself with lolly who we did not order but upon arrival set up magic show in middle if dancefloir.tricks did not work and he used children's props would like a partial refund very unsatisfactory

:

We take all feedback seriously. However, this is nothing more than a Rant (Anything less than a 2* across the board). Note..Honest feedback will vary up and down the scale. To protect Gigmasters and us, we shared proof against her Rant. Please disregard her comment. There was laughter and handclapping throughout the performance. We customized (which we offer to do as needed) our show for this event with Free Casual Attire. Last minute changes are not available after a custom rehearsal. We offered her a beginning cost change and also a refund after her post, but both were refused. Therefore, we now Warn other Entertainers to think twice before booking this client.

Mother's Day PartyReviewed on April 30, 2017From Webberville, MI

they came 10 min before the program started which i consider late, the assistant was not in very professional attire. they didnt sit down and wait to be anounced while mistress of ceremony had a couple of introductions before them they just stood by their table. also we paid 112 dollars and they said hardly anything i feel we were missled. Not very professional

:

We are sad to hear she was not satisified. The assistant's attire, I did not catch in time before it was too late....usually it is fine. Ten minutes early is fine with all other churches except her's...hmm...we were ready to twist two minutes after arrival. As far as speaking, I was not invited to speak...only to twist balloons. She did have that opportunity, but she declined. I feel that the loss is exceedly high for her congregation, as I am very knowledgable in that area. Sorry, I'm not seeing any relevancy to my trade values in her respose. I know for a fact that the twisting went over very well, just by the pleased expressions on their faces.

Christmas PartyReviewed on December 22, 2019From Macomb, MI

Worse Santa I have ever hired. The elf that accompanied him wore baggie jeans and a bunch of keys hanging from his belt did not have an elf Costume on - only an elf hat. Also the elf was told to leave his spittoon outside. Other Santa’s read a story or sang Christmas songs, this one did nothing. Would not recommend.

:

You must rate the Santa (nearly 40 years of service)...Not the Elf hat helper... We furnish no Elf in costume..It would cost you much more if we did. Helper does not chew..uses no Spittoon..helps Santa on personal needs because of his age. Santa offered to read any Holiday Book from your library and other items mentioned there in Note messages sent. No one remembered that or furnished one. Many others do and Santa reads adding his magic to the story. Santa (An HS Music Major) did sing along and also rang bells to musical beats. Please correct this review to reflect an honest opinion. Rants are discouraged because they depict your own negative characteristics.

Santa was great. My son really liked the experience and I got lots of pictures with Santa. His head Elf was amazing too and very helpful. I would recommend these 2 for any party and/or event.
