So grateful that Darrell was available to partake in the services for my dad (both parents).He is very knowledgeable, attentive, professional, excellent communicator . The day of the services when he arrived he greeted me with a big hug! Which was awesome! It was comforting. He is very punctual & gave guidance to our friend who was giving the services on that day. All of Our guest were moved by the bagpipes saying wow! He was incredible. I know my parents were watching over us and were smiling through the sunshine on that beautiful day!

Darrell was superb! He was very professional and tailored his bagpipe playing to our specific requests for the service. It was the perfect way to conduct our committal service, and many attendees commented on how special Darrell was. Highly recommended!

I hired Darrell almost a month before my Dad’s 80th, and I am soooo glad I got him before anyone else could scoop him up. He was more than accommodating to my musical requests and catered the playlist to my dad’s West Point, Vietnam War Veteran history. He had the brilliant suggestion to add a drummer (but did not pressure) to enhance the military musical flavor, and Malcolm was perfect! They entered the Robin Hood British Pub in Sherman Oaks playing “The Army Goes Rolling Along” and had the entire pub joining in the celebration. Dad was in tears, and the entire event was a tremendous success! Thank you doesn’t cover it, Darrell. You and Malcolm are the best!!!

Darrell was so sincerely helpful with all aspects of planning a (Veteran) National Cemetery Committal Service, not just his beautiful and to perfection bagpipper music. His presence, his music, was a beautiful part of our ceremony and service as we honored our Dad and lay him to rest. I highly recommend Darrell.

We hired Darrell Calvillo through The Bash to play bagpipes at my father’s memorial. First of all, we picked him because of his thoughtful response to our inquiry. He was very helpful and professional during our conversations leading up to the event. At the memorial itself, he did not disappoint. My father always loved the bagpipes, and it was such a special experience to include such a wonderful presentation and performance in our time of remembering him. I think it’s safe to say that Darrell exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend him for any gathering that would require his unique and skilled talents.

Darrell Calvillo is an outstanding bagpiper who made this booking so easy! We needed a bagpiper for a funeral of our dear friend's father. Darrell was the first to respond AND by phone. He began our conversation by extending his condolences. He was so personal, professional, and kind--exuding warmth and humor. While others responded later via email, we knew Darrell was OUR bagpiper! He made the planning SO easy. He readily responded by phone and arrived beautifully dressed in his formal kilt. He led the procession with class and dignity playing Amazing Grace and later Danny Boy. It was live-streamed to Ireland and they were also very impressed! Thank you, Darrell.

Darrell did an excellent job at my daughter's wedding! All of the guests absolutely raved about him and his group of pipers and drummers - it MADE the entire wedding experience extraordinary! I highly recommend Darrell - he was very responsive to my phone calls and emails, he worked well with the surprise element for the groom, and his music was literally awesome!

Darrell was excellent. My party was for multiple birthday celebrants at my house and Darrell was a shhhh.....surprise for my step dad. Darrell had made his grand surprise entrance as Darrell and I planned it was perfect. My step dad sure was surprised he had tears in his eyes. My step dad was so happy I had asked him if he had a song request, he said he didn't care what Darrell played. My friends & family enjoyed Darrell's performance. And look forward to having him again either at my house or my friends or family's places!
