Private Party•Reviewed on August 17, 2007•From Dennis, MA

Jose was prompt and curteous. The event was a rehearsal dinner for my son and his future wife--a surprize for her. Jose played the Carribean music we wanted to go along with our carribean themed dinner. He was very good and very professional.

Jose did a wonderful job, at the last minute we asked him to play the ceremony music and he happily obliged. I was told by my of the wedding guest that they thought he was a great entertainer during the cocktail hour. I would defintely recommend him/

Jose was great in setting the scene for our caribbean island style wedding, even in the pouring rain! He is very talented. All our guests were very entertained by his playing. And he did a wonderful job playing as I walked down the aisle.

The Island music was fabulous. Jose played the right mix of tunes for our wedding. Communicating with him though was not very smooth. He rarely remembered who I was while we were emailing back and forth and did not recall our payment agreement. Overall he is great at what he does but I'd be sure to spell things out a little more clearly before my event.

:

I'm glad they enjoyed my performance and I thank them for the review. There was some confusion about payment and I had a printout of the original bid sheet. My sincere apologies for the communication problem. My schedule has been extremely busy, and my concentration was mainly on delivering the best performance possible. Again I'm very appreciative that they enjoyed my performance and gave me very generous tip. Jose Narciso Costa

Wedding Cocktail Hour•Reviewed on September 10, 2009•From Quincy, MA

Jose Costa gave us a very entertaining steel drum presentation. He was prompt in arriving, and his music helped to create a very joyous and memorable cocktail hour at our daughter's wedding. I will definitely spread the word and use GigMasters again.

We were so glad that we decided to hire Jose Costa to play at our wedding! He was extremely professional and helpful, and we were so happy with the music that he played. It really helped to add a special aspect to the wedding, and we will always remember it when we think back to our special day. We would highly recommend Jose to anyone, and would definitely hire him again for another party.

First of all he was late. He had been mailed detailed directions when a deposit had been sent to him. The understanding was that he was to start playing at 2:00 pm sharp as our guests arrived. Instead he started sporadically at 2:30pm. When he arrived, he blocked the driveway with his car to unload so that the golf carts carrying our guests was blocked. When asked to move the car after he unloaded and walked his equipment in, he was very reluctant. He told my husband that he had been sick and needed some juice, which he was given. So much for the show must go on. The music was fair to good, I had asked for background music and that's what we got. He was supposed to fill his breaks with music so that there was no quiet times but there were, and he was supposed to have brought a microphone for the blessing of the meal. When it was time for the meal to be served, I had to look around for him to ask for the mike, only to find him alone at the buffet table filling his plate before any of my guests or the guests of honor, and did not have a microphone. I encouraged him to close shop early so that the DJ could start earlier than we had planned. As he was leaving, he requested that I e-mail a picture of our pool to him so that he can copy it. In what was a great party, he was the only disappointment. You need to speak to him about manners and professionalism and tell him to hire his own pool designer.

First of all I started at 2:05 and was not late.Anyone can tell by reading this that it is very slanted, exagerated, and overly negative.I have done many jobs and never got any feedback like this. There was music on my breaks we even had a conversation about how some guests liked the Reggae (CD Reggae for Kids). The driveway was not totally blocked and the carts were able to get through. As far as the negative comments on her pool I was merely admiring the work and looking for options to use on my own home. For the record I have done exstensive work as a stone mason and now I am a public school teacher.I built a semi mansion over a 15 year period with my own two hands.I d
