Retro Notes Jazz Band from San Jose, CA

Retro Notes are a San Francisco Bay Area Jazz band combining elements of Swing and Jazz Standards with contemporary vocals and rhythms. We started in 2016 and quickly built up a wide repertoire. We play about fifty gigs a year ranging from the San Jose Jazz Festival, wine bars and weddings to small private parties and Senior Homes. Depending on the event, we can bring anywhere from a duo/trio to a full band with horn section and dancers. We tailor the setlist to the event. In a recent wedding, we worked closely with the bride and played L.O.V.E. for their first dance in the exact tempo for the dance and in the keys that worked for the sister of the bride on vocals. We play music ranging from Speakeasy (20's) to 40-50's swing (Sinatra/Ella Fitzgerald) to latin jazz and more recent pop hits with a Retro Jazz twist. We have recorded two albums.
