Jody Fuller is a clean comedian, motivational speaker, writer, and soldier with three tours of duty in Iraq. He is also a lifetime stutterer.

Recently, Alabama Magazine named Jody as one of their "Top 40 0ver 40" whose lives and careers are characterized by great levels of giving and achievement. He was also named as “one of the 15 Southern stand-up comedians that will make you laugh 'til you cry” by “It's a Southern Thing,” and GI Jobs Magazine listed him as “One of 15 Veterans taking the comedy world by storm.” Additionally, Jody has a Dry Bar Comedy special filmed live and in color from Provo, Utah. 

Growing up in Opelika, AL Jody had to overcome two things: poverty and stuttering. Enlisting in the Army after high school helped him overcome the poverty but the stuttering continues to be a daily challenge, but he wouldn't have it any other way. His stories about stuttering will make you laugh, but, more importantly, will bring awareness to an often overlooked condition.

After a 4 year stint as an Army medic, he returned home to attend college at Auburn University at Montgomery where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Along the way, before and after that first enlistment in the Army, he worked at Kroger for 8 1/2 years. The stories are hilarious and had a meaningful impact on his life.

After 9/11, he returned to the Army by way of Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Ft. Benning, GA. After OCS and follow on schools, he was assigned to 2nd Infantry Division at Ft. Lewis, WA where he would soon deploy to Iraq for the first time as the Platoon Leader of the third largest platoon in the United States Army.

In 2006, Jody left active duty Army to join the Alabama National Guard and subsequently deployed to Iraq two more times. In 2014, he transferred to the Reserves and was promoted to the rank of Major. He separated from the service in 2017.

When not in uniform, Jody performs for a wide range of audiences from corporations to conferences to disability groups to troops at home and abroad. To date, he has entertained troops in 15 countries around the world. 

He's worked with the likes of Louie Anderson, James Gregory, and Jeff Foxworthy.

Jody is a certified John Maxwell Leadership Speaker and has been published 11 times in the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

He is a member of two NSAs: the National Stuttering Association and the National Speakers Association.

Jody lives in Opelika, Alabama.

Jody Fuller was an outstanding guest speaker for our members celebrating our annual dinner meeting.  Everyone had a great time we all left laughing with our new friend, Jody.


I've used Jody for multiple events for my nonprofit and he has "knocked it out of the park" both times. On May 7, 024 he spoke at our fundraiser and we nearly doubled what we had ever done previously. I received good feedback on the program as a whole, but his portion as a speaker was one of the most highly rated portions of the event. I would highly recommend him to anyone and I have done so at least a dozen times since November (when he did our first event).

Jody really accommodated a first time effort where we were just trying out a new kind of ministry event. He totally jumped in, meeting attendees and referring to them comfortably in his comedy set. I definitely appreciated his patience and willingness to call some audibles at the line with us. Great job. Great laughs. This was a rare kind of event and possibly we will do it again. I definitely hope Jody can enjoy the thrill (for himself and us) at working his comedy with a full room.

Jody performed for us at an annual corporate event.  We have hired comedians for the past seven years and we had more positive feedback from our guests for Jody than for any other.  He was wonderful and we would highly recommend him to any group at any time.

Jody is very gifted and creative comedian.  It was a pleasure working with him and he made this our best Dean's Club dinner in 10 years.  I would highly recommend him for any occassion.  Very entertaining.

Here is what one of our guests said "    I love the way he made fun of everyday situations and made them come to light.  He winds you up and then surprises you with a common sense observation, but it’s so funny you can’t help laughing!

  

While presenting to FFA Central District Chapter Officers, Mr. Fuller did a great job at both entertainment and inspiring today's youth. His unique approach is refreshing when you are looking for something different. I would recommend Jody Fuller for any speaking event that needs a professional, easy to work with, motivating entertainer.
