James was exactly as I wanted. Great musical variety, his talent at the piano shows right away. He was a great hit for my party.

Studio SessionReviewed on August 2, 2004From Camarillo, CA

I met James and he was a true proffessional piano player. The entire session only took him 1 hour to record the track where the other 2 piano players combined took 9 hours and didn't give us the right arrangement. I recommend James to anyone looking for a professional piano player.

Anniversary PartyReviewed on September 15, 2007From Woodland Hills, CA

James is an outstanding and talented pianist and can play anything!! My only issue is that he booked himself with 2 committments in one day and because of traffic and traveling so far he was late to our function. However, everything worked out and the guests loved him!

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on May 19, 2007From Mission Viejo, CA

What a great evening! James impressed our guests with his talent, and yet didn't overwhelm the festivities. He was a generous accompanist for singing friends. He helped make the 50th birthday party very special for everyone and very easy for the hosts. Thank you James. We're looking forward to having another chance to hire you for another wonderful event.

Anniversary PartyReviewed on June 26, 2005From Pacific Palisades, CA

James was wonderful. He kept the music in just the style we wanted from the general description we gave him. He played with great energy throughout the event. Importantly, too, he is a real gentleman. We would be delighted to have him play for us again and will recommend him very highly to our friends.

WeddingReviewed on July 24, 2005From Santa Barbara, CA

James was a hit with our guests at my wedding a couple weeks ago. I still am getting compliments from people. The music selection was not exactly what I orginally wanted but as soon as I saw everyone enjoying it so much, I realized it was best to have more classical than contemporary. He is a very gifted piano player and very professional. I definately will recommend him again.

James was great, I didn't even see or meet him until after the ceremony... He played beautifully both my wife and I were very pleased. Thank you so much James.

Corporate FunctionReviewed on December 19, 2006From Ontario, CA

Mr. Lent's talent was remarkable. He was a joy to listen to and many of my guests commented on how wonderful the pianist was. Administratively, there were a few things that were not 100% professional. Potentail clients need not be weary of booking Mr. Lent as his talent is wonderful.

:

I'm sure that what Theresa is referring to is that I was informed I"d be playing from 11am-12pm and 1-2pm, with a seperate program occuring from 12-1. In reality, I played from 11am-12:40pm without a break, and went on a short break, having been informed that there was an hour long program. The program was finished in 10 minutes, and they started serving lunch immediately, while I was still away. Fortunately, I returned to start playing again 5 minutes after lunch started being served, however there should have been better communication regarding the schedule of events.

WeddingReviewed on August 4, 2006From Santa Monica, CA

James was a huge asset to our event. He coordinated the trio for the ceremony and the reception. He REALLY helped with song suggestions for the ceremony. James, along with the vocalist Peter Nathan Foltz, the violinist Wes Precourt and the saxophonist David Olivas made our ceremony and reception entertaining and enjoyable. We were amazed how versatile Peter was--he not only gave us chills with classical tunes like "Where e're you walk", but he was able to belt out our first dance song "At Last". Everyone was so impressed!! We couldn't have been happier. We would definitely hire them again.

Private PartyReviewed on March 20, 2004From Los Angeles, CA

We hired James Lent but he did not show up. We booked him almost two months in advance, and reconfirmed the booking with him with a week to go. THE DAY BEFORE our event was to take place we contacted him again, and he said that he had accepted another gig would not honor his contract with us. Obviously, we cannot recommend him. Lent's dishonest response to this review was what I would expect from someone with a proven lack of integrity. His "emergency" was that he accepted another job on the same night as our event, with no regard to his commitment and contract to our event.

:

When there was an emergency at the Colburn School, I was needed to perform at the last minute for a performer who fell ill, so I offered Steve a first class substitute that I would pay myself for the first 30 minutes of the 5 hour party. Steve would not even consider my offer. He rudely fired me with giving me any chance to discuss or solve the problem.

WeddingReviewed on September 20, 2008From Newport Beach, CA

James was very professional, well dressed, and knowledgeable. He needed no direction, he walked in and just began to play. I appreciated his ability to just play, since I was the mother of the bride, I was very busy.
