Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on October 27, 2007From Lansing, MI

We hired Robert (guitar) and his colleague (saxaphonist) for a 70th birthday party for my Dad. They were very professional, arrived early and the music was exceptional. I wished I could have them play for me all of the time! Every single guest commented to me on how fabulous they were. There were many age groups at our party from 2 to 82. They played a great mix of music that entertained, and kept the interest of everyone. I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone who is looking for music for their events. If anyone is reading this review trying to decide whether they should hire these guys, do it! You won't regret it!

Robert McCloy is a truly gifted musician. He took the time to learn the songs we wanted at our ceremony and even recorded them ahead of time to make sure that he was playing it exactly right. He was professional and a wonderful addition to our wedding. Thanks, Robert!

What a great person R. McCloy is - and so talented. The music during the wedding and reception was beautiful - I would reccommend him for any occassion. We were indeed fortunate to find the gigmaster web site and these muscians - I will tell everyone I know to use this service for special events. Thanks! Robin Rial

NEVER HAVING MET EITHER GENTLEMAN, I WAS VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THEM AS WERE OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS. THEY WERE FUN AND TALENTED. EVERYONE SAID THEY WISH THEY COULD HAVE PLAYED ALL DAY. IT WAS A LOVELY TOUCH TO THE CELEBRATION OF THE DAY.

Robert McCloy and his band displayed the utmost professionalism, versatility, and talent when he played at our wedding and reception. We received so many compliments from our guests on our choice of musicians and their range of styles...there was something played for everybody!! Robert and his accompanying musicians played a broad variety of Celtic, bluegrass/country, oldies rock, jazz/swing. They sang and played everything from fiddles to guitars. They were both classy AND fun, which is a hard combination to pull off. Thank you so much Robert!! Davis & Cindy Coye

I was so happy with these musicians! Before the wedding, Robert was always willing to discuss any questions I had and always returned my calls promptly. They accommodated my requests for special music with no problems and it sounded just like the CD I had given them to learn the songs from. They played beautifully and I never had to worry about them all day. I would recommend their services to any bride who wants something more elegant than a DJ for her special day.

Corporate FunctionReviewed on November 4, 2006From Mount Pleasant, MI

Robert McCloy was absolutely patient and accommodating, particularly given the lengthy coordination provided him by our group. He was always quick to respond with answers to the questions we posed in planning our engagement. Guests remarked that he was quite talented, and possessed a warm personality. I will certainly keep Mr. McCloy in mind for any future entertainment needs.

Robert was very easy to work with, and was very helpful in selecting musical pieces for my daughter's wedding. He sent us several MP3 files of possible selections so that we could hear how they sounded as solo pieces. All of our contact with Robert was professional with prompt responses, he arrived on time, and played beautifully throughout the wedding ceremony. Thank you for helping to make her special day a success.

:

She requested "Jesu, Joy Man's Desiring" as a processional at a Jewish wedding. The Rabbi nixed that and shook his head in wonder. So, I guess that explains my lack of "accomodation" :-)

Loved the music. Only suggestion would be to introduce themselves to crowd and bridal party.

WeddingReviewed on September 24, 2005From Leonard, MI

The music was great, very professional and talented. However I was very disapointed that the music did not begin until 10 min after scheduled time when guests had already begun to arrive. Also, I payed for music to play up until 7:30 when the musicians were gone by 7. I would have liked the musicians to offer to play in the hall for a bit rather than just leaving without even asking. I could have stuck with the standard one hour rate instead having the extra 1/2 hour charge. I do not feel I recieved my moneys worth which was $550 for 45 min of music when I payed for 90 minutes.

:

Re: when we started. Crystal had not finalized everthing re: music at ceremony. I needed to find her, and confirm requests to make sure we played the processional for the wedding party on cue. No one was provided to help us with that on site. At the conclusion of the ceremony, everyone left the area. I suppose we could have sat there and played to no one??

Great job playing for the ceremony and reception. Fit right in and fulfilled role he was hired for. He traveled a long distance to the wedding and was very accomodating. There was some confusion with regard to the time of arrival. He was to start playing at the end of the ceremony, but didn't arrive until after the ceremony was to start. We had to delay the start of the wedding until he arrived to ensure he would be there to play the recessional. This was probably a communication error, but it would have worked out so much better to have him arrive at least a half hour before he was to start playing so that he could be made familiar with what he was supposed to do. All in all, he did a very nice job playing, and the bride and groom were pleased. Thank you!

:

They changed the start time, and never contacted me. I was contracted by Arika to play the reception only (Arika was not the bride). They decided they wanted me to play the recessional AND NEVER LET ME KNOW. In the weeks before the event, I had emailed the bride with my toll free number and suggested she call me to make sure we were all set. She emailed back she would, but never did. The bride even appologized for HER error on the date of the gig.
