Gus was fantastic! He plays beautifully, arrived to the venue early, and was easy to communicate and coordinate with throughout our wedding planning process. Gus offered us great suggestions on songs and the order they should be played in based in his expertise. His highland attire added the perfect bit of flair to our outdoor wedding. I would highly recommend working with Gus for any event.

Chris and Carolyn hired me to play at their outdoor wedding in Farquhar Park in York City. A great deal of planning actually went into their ceremony. I played a variety of tunes including Shenandoah, Ode to Joy and Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms for their Ring-Warming. The couple actually waltzed during this portion. I wore Cameron of Erracht tartan in No. 3 Dress. It was actually pleasant to be playing in the shade of a grove of trees.

I was hired to play at the annual Convocation Ceremony at the Irvine Memorial Chapel on the campus of the Mercersburg Academy in south-central Pennsylvania. This is a prestigious secondary school with students from all over the US and many foreign countries. I played for the Processional and the Recessional. This was a most impressive ceremony in a magnificent edifice.

Jacklyn hired me to play at a moment of remembrance for her grandfather who had recently passed away. The event was her wedding to David at the Historic Shady Run Resort in Manchester, PA. I played a selection of Irish tunes for her grandmother who was sitting at the lead table. As a marc- off tune, I played Highland Laddie as a tribute to David.

I was hired to play at the annual Memorial Service to honor Federal Correctional employees who had died in the line of duty. The service was held at the Schuylkill Correctional Institution in Minersville. I played Amazing Grace as the official party were taking their seats, and then The Flowers of the Forest following the three volleys and Taps. It was a very impressive tribute.

Linda hired me to play at the combination birthday and family reunion party at the home of her friend Emilie. The party was held at a private residence on the outskirts of Gettysburg. A number of the guests were living historians in period attire, so I dressed appropriately. I played a large selection of Scottish and Irish tunes and many of the guests sang along. A very enjoyable experience!

The Pennsylvania Association of School Resource Officers hired me to play at their opening ceremony at their 2nd Annual Convention at the Premier Best Western Inn in Harrisburg, PA. I played for the Posting of the Colors, and also played The Flowers of the Forest as a tribute to the passing of five officers during the previous year. I received an impressive reception.

Although a very hot and humid afternoon, I played in the shade of a large tree. The celebrant's three sons came from Virginia, Florida and Oregon to celebrate the event.

Gus performed exactly how we had in mind for our wedding.
Leading up to the wedding he had a variety of wardrobe options and suggestions to help guide a successful performance which we leaned on.
The day if he was flexible and accommodating and provided the atmosphere we wanted. We also had him imitate the recession which he did wonderfully and it captured the signature and dramatic moment of being announced as husband and wife.
Overall his experience made things easy on us and he delivered beautifully.

Nick and Amy hired me to play at their wedding at the Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park. This was a magnificent venue. Unfortunately, the heavy rain drove everyone indoors. Nevertheless, I played under the overhead arch as guests arrived. At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, I escorted them down the aisle to the cheers and applause of the guests. I played Highland Laddie to honor the Groom. Thereafter, I played on the balcony of the large hall as they greeted their guests.

At short notice, I was hired to play at the funeral of a Scottish-American lady at the Canadochly Lutheran Church in East York. I played outside in the shade as people were gathering, and then played Going Home as the casket was conveyed to the altar. After the service, I played at the gravesite for the final interment. A very hot day, and I dressed accordingly.

I was hired to play at the burial service for Wayne's Aunt at the Richfield Union Cemetery in rural Pennsylvania. Also being interred was the ashes of the aunt's husband who had died many years ago. Wayne picked out all the pipe music for the service which included Land of my Fathers, a famous Welsh hymn.

I was invited back to play at the annual Commencement Ceremony at the Linden Hall College Preparatory School for Girls in Lititz, PA. I also wore historic uniform of the Black Watch in white woolen shell jacket worn by the Foot Guards and Highland Regiments for Drill Order during the latter part of the 19th Century. I played as the graduates and families were gathering, and then led the Ceremonial Procession around the school to the front entrance. This was a very enjoyable event.

Hiring Gus was the best decision we made regarding our wedding music. The processional was the highlight of the ceremony and his piping is the best we’ve ever heard. He is easy to work with, accommodating, and helpful choosing songs. He played so solidly and for a long time during our prelude, procession, recession, Grand March and first waltz. I highly recommend hiring Gus for your Scottish or Irish themed wedding ceremony and dancing.

I was hired to play for the Renewal of Wedding Vows for Adrien and Rebukah at the Hilltop House in Devon, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. It was a very strenuous event requiring a great deal of piping for the various portions of the ceremony and the aftermath. The aftermath featured a Grand March for the large group of family and guests. Too bad it was raining and thus conducting the event outdoors was out of the question, A very enjoyable Scottish event.

I was hired to play at a celebratory game at DeSales University played by the Men's Lacrosse Team. It was a dour and drizzling day as I led the team onto and around the field and then played as the entire team warmed up. It was a great experience.

I was hired to play at the wedding of Patrick and Beth in the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Harrisburg, PA, - certainly a magnificent venue. I played at the end of ceremony as the Bridal Couple descended the large staircase in the center of the expansive room. The couple had requested that I play The Gael for a Recessional and a number of other traditional Scottish tunes. The acoustics were certainly amazing!

Gus Person is a phenomenal piper! He was able to play Irish pipe music that was authentic and traditional. He provided a repertoire of tunes and I was able to pick what I needed. He played in a stoic manner during bad weather that both honored my Irish Father and inspired all who attended. His rate was most reasonable of all pipers that I contacted. During intermittent wet snow showers, I played at the funeral and interment of an Irish-American gentleman at the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Columbarium in Chambersburg, PA. I wore traditional Irish attire and was pleased to have my cloak which was worn in the fashion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. I played Irish traditional tunes which were selected by the deceased's son. He especially wanted to hear "St. Patrick's Day...in the morning."
