Classic Cantina Music

The mischievous brassy cantina has been beloved by Star Wars fans since it first graced our ears in A New Hope. Reminiscent of the jazz bands of the Roaring Twenties, you can add a truly special twist to your party with this kind of music. These lively tunes will set the perfect tone for your evening. Find a band near you here on The Bash.
Grogu’s Bone Broth
Grogu, the Child, instantly captured the hearts of millions with his first appearance in The Mandalorian’s premiere episode. His sojourn with Din Djarin on the planet Sorgan later in the season included some delicious broth to satisfy the Child’s request to eat “something with bones”.
The in-universe recipe uses grinjer; while that can be hard to come by, you can join Grogu in drinking some delicious, nourishing consommé with a chicken base. Try adding some fresh ginger to this recipe for a zingy twist.
Wookiee Cookiees

There’s nothing quite like a classic sugar cookie, and popular culture characters don’t get more classic than Chewbacca. You can pay homage to everyone’s favorite co-pilot by recreating him, or indeed, any Star Wars character you like, in icing form. These will be fan favorite on your dessert table.
Forest Setting
For romance and adventure in equal measure, there’s nothing quite like a forest setting. The tranquil trees, the rustling of unseen creatures, and, in this case, the triumph of a hard-won victory against an oppressive power, all combine to create an almost ethereal atmosphere.
You can easily recreate one of the most memorable scenes in the original trilogy with plenty of stringed lights, log benches, food, and a bonfire.
Costumes and Characters

You and your guests can pay homage to your favorites by dressing up as them for the evening. From Chewbacca’s towering furry silhouette to Princess Leia’s flowing gown and space buns to C-3PO’s glossy golden plating, these costumes have taken their place in the hall of fame for their unique designs.
You also can’t go wrong with hiring a costumed character to come and visit for added excitement. You’ll love to look back on the photos with Darth Vader and Princess Leia.
Jedi Training
The light saber is perhaps the most iconic piece from the franchise with its glowing blade and distinctive hum. Used solely by those deemed worthy, the Jedi, they have ingrained themselves in popular culture both as aspects of the Star Wars universe and as toys in their own right – who doesn’t love a good sword fight?
The real-world equivalent of fencing doesn’t quite compare to the thrilling clash of glowing sabers, but it’s pretty close. This Star Wars party game is easy if you use pool noodles and if you and your guests are up for some of your own Jedi training.
Yoda’s Soda

This tiny green creature first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back and made a lasting impression with his curious syntax and wise lessons. An equally vivid green drink pays homage not only to Yoda’s unique complexion but also to his glowing light saber. This delightful fruity concoction is alcohol-free, but you can add some if you wish.
Paying Colorful Homage
A truly subtle way to pay homage to a galaxy far, far away is with your color scheme, and Star Wars offers plenty of diverse inspiration. From the sandy earth tones of Tattooine to the icy tundra of Hoth, there are so many ways to incorporate this vibrant world into your party. Table linens, napkins, and wall hangings can all play their part in invoking your chosen galactic setting.
Star Wars Themed Birthday Cake

There are so many options when it comes to a Star Wars themed birthday cake. For an Endorian birthday cake, this decadent chocolate cake is the perfect way to show your loyalty to the Rebellion: you can decorate it with lush green leaves and crumbled Oreo cookies to represent the famous forest moon.
If you’re feeling really ambitious, you can always opt for a Death Star cake. Your adult Star Wars guests will definitely be impressed. If not, this creative Star Wars cake with Darth Vader and classic line “May the Force Be With You”, will more than do.
Sabacc Table
Ever since we watched Han Solo and Lando Calrissian battle it out, and Han walked away with the Millennium Falcon as his prize, sabacc has become a fascinating topic. This card game has elements of both poker and blackjack, but also makes use of dice to shake things up a little.
With cards that hold both a negative and positive value, the aim of the game is to finish with a hand that values 23, or as close to it as possible. You can play with a regular deck of cards by combining two packs, or you can use this gorgeous set of sabacc cards for added authenticity. This how-to guide will teach you how to try your hand at this tavern classic.
Balloons Galore

Whether your allegiance is to the Empire, the Dark Side, or nobody at all, you can easily find some balloons to tie in with your chosen color scheme. Black, white, and grey take their cue from the iconic stormtroopers, while orange, gold, red, and blue have come to represent the Rebel Alliance.
You can even go the extra mile and add some starry elements with any of these metallic options.
Parwan Nutricakes
These nutricakes were a supposed favorite of the bounty hunter Derrown, hailing from the planet Parwa. The battered golden discs of his homeworld were a handy on-the-go meal, and pirate queen Maz Kanata (seen in The Force Awakens) served them to patrons at her castle.
This meat-free, protein-packed party food makes for a delectably filling snack. You can serve them with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Galaxy Cupcakes

These delicious cupcakes fit the bill in both taste and aesthetics. They also take remarkably little time to make; if you want a truly quick and easy version, you can use a premade cake mix and add your desired food coloring to achieve that otherworldly look. But the true (and literal) icing on the cake is the swirly, glittery frosting topped with as many starry sprinkles as you can fit!
Padmé-worthy Décor
For a setting as regal as Queen Amidala, add some celestial details to your soirée. You can drape streamers in blue and gold in homage to the galactic sky, and shimmering stars and beads will transport you to an elegant room a galaxy away.
Glittering candle holders, lush green centerpieces, and luxuriant touches like this velvet table runner will have your guests totally immersed in celestial sophistication for a Star Wars birthday party.
Imperial Piñata

For a more energetic way of passing the time, why not try a classic piñata? You can relive the iconic destruction of the Death Star in your own living room with lightsaber piñata busters. While some options are available online ready to use, the battle station is relatively easy to DIY if you prefer: all you need is cardboard, glue, paint, and some determination.
An alternative would be a storm trooper or rebel fighter pilot’s helmet, depending on your allegiance. Bonus points for filling the piñata with delicious galactic sweets that can double as party favors!
Spicy Mandalorian Stew
A hearty traditional Mandalorian stew comes with a potent spice mix. The flavorful dish reflects the Mandalorians’ status as strong people who love a challenge. Its Mando’a name, tiingilar, is thought to translate roughly to “eat at your own risk”, but you can leave that to the armored warriors.
Here’s a deliciously fiery recipe you can make that would make even Din Djarin reach for the bantha milk. Or, if you prefer spiced rather than spicy, you can give this aromatic Moroccan beef dish a whirl.
Pun-tastic Refreshments

Star Wars has been the inspiration for many delightful puns over the years, and food and drink have enjoyed the majority of them. You can delight your guests with some classic in-universe beverages and add a galactic twist to some more contemporary offerings.
A Qui Gon Gimlet is sure to get a wry smile from your guests, while a Photon Fizzle takes inspiration from a classic Moscow Mule, enjoying the addition of boba pearls. You can elevate the White Russian with a little blue food dye, turning it into the distinctive blue bantha milk from Luke Skywalker’s childhood.
Try your own hand at these delicious concoctions, or find a bartender near you on The Bash to supply delectable themed libations that Mon Mothma would be proud of. Chandrilan squigs, anyone?
Galactic Catering
The food and drink enjoyed in the world of Star Wars is just as varied as the characters who inhabit it, if not more so. Cookbooks, recipe blogs, and YouTube channels all dedicate themselves to the delicious fare offered by George Lucas’ world, and food truly is the key to authenticity when it comes to themed parties. Why not hire a caterer for the special occasion? Use The Bash to source one near you and have your guests enjoy delicacies worthy of a galactic banquet.
Celestial Trivia
The rich backstory and detailed lore of the Star Wars universe make it the perfect subject for a trivia quiz. You can break the questions into different rounds if you like, such as who-said-it, movie trivia, in-universe history, and behind-the-scenes. This is an ideal way to stir some healthy competition among your guests and pass the time as you digest your delicious dinner.
Galactic Mad Libs
This beloved word game lends itself to just about any occasion. The fill-in-the-blanks stories can have hilarious results and are a great way to work your brains without working too hard. This edition was published before the widespread resurgence of Star Wars media and so features storylines only from the first six live-action movies. But don’t let that stop you! With 21 stories to complete with your own additions, a round of mad libs could be exactly what you need to round off your evening.
