Jane Mays & The Minnie Funk band Variety Band from Oklahoma City, OK

Jane Mays is a "seasoned player" for sure. She has been playing keyboard and singing in bands and performing solo since 1993. She got her start in Austin TX, where she began playing in bands and writing her own music at the age of 19. In Austin, Jane was part of the 6th street music scene at places like Steamboat and Antone's. From Austin, Jane made her way to L.A., where she continued to perform and write music. In L.A., Jane played in Funk and Rhythm & Blues Bands and continued to hone her chops. She played at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, traveled to Taiwan, playing at The Hard Rock Cafe in Tapai, as well as traveling to London and Singapore to play music. Once in OKC, Jane joined forces with Drummer/Percussionist/Vocalist, Billy Tilman to form The Jane Mays Band. Formed in OKC in 2007, the Jane Mays Band played regularly in Oklahoma and throughout the southwest. The band had a number of musicians join them on the stage, but the core members were Mays and Tilman. The band has been a mainstay for OKC's Festival Of The Arts since 2008. They were the house band for the Yippee Yi Yo Show's stage production in 2008-2010. They performed at Tulsa's first annual D-Fest Yoga & Music Conference in 2008, Paul's Valley Arts Festival in 2009, Paseo Arts Festival 2008 - 2019, the 2nd annual Rock the Boat festival in Bricktown in 2013, the first Annual Frack Fest in OKC's Film Row in the Fall of 2015, and performed regularly for Noon Tunes, Art Moves, VZD’s, Full Circle Bookstore and other local venues around OKC. Most recently, in late 2018, Jane Mays & The Minnie Funk Band was born. Mays and Tilman joined forces with guitarist Don Juntunen, bass player, Athel Cooley, sax player, John Johnson, and drummer/vocalist Jeffrey Scott Mays, Jane Mays on keys and Tilman on percussion. Jane Mays & The Minnie Funk Band is rocking the OKC music scene with original funky tunes and 70's and 80's rock and funk covers. Every band member has at least 20 years experience honing their chops and gracing stages across the US. Rock On!!
