The Dimestore Dandy Jazz Band from Louisville, KY

The Derby City Dandies are a lively, uke-driven Hot Jazz combo based in Louisville, Kentucky. We specialize in early danceable music from the 1920s Jazz Age to the 1930s Swing Era and beyond. Our repertoire ranges from songs from Tin Pan Alley to the Great American songbook and, for variety, will include music from other popular genres of the early 20th century including; Hawaiian, Blues and Americana. Decked in vintage attire, we're also perfect complement to any retro themed Speakeasy, Prohibition, Gatsby event. San Francisco Bay Area transplant and band leader, Rick Quisol, has performed retro themed events for The SF Art Deco Society, SF Historical Society, SF Silent Film Festival. Notable performances have included playing for director Francis Ford Coppola at Cafe Zoetrope and a feature in a Lucas Film documentary about the history Tin Pan Alley music. I have been an active performer for over 25 years, and we are a unique addition to parties, weddings, restaurants, birthday parties. For weddings I will provide special pricing that can include processional/recessional, cocktail hour music, and then dance music. .
