Felix and the Cats  Swing Band from Darien, CT

Felix and the Cats offers a eight piece compact big band with vocals. We are based in New York City and play regularly at Swing 46. The band started in harlem, and played for extended engagements at the following venues: Red Blazer Too, NYC, Westchester Country Club, Rye NY, Stamford Marriott, Stamford, CT., Wells Restaurant, Harlem, NY, Washington Square Music Festival, NYC, The Rainbow Room, NYC, Hotel Sutton Place, NYC, Kimberly Hotel, NYC, Mystic Seaport, Mystic CT, Jay Heritage Center, Rye NY. The band has a diverse book of Fletcher Henderson, Jimmy Mundy, and Sy Oliver arrangements. These are the same arrangements used by Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Earl Hines. We also have incorporated some other styles such as Rhythm and Blues, and Latin to round out the musical selections. The band has been around since 1994 and has had many prominent musicians , some from the swing era. We also have some of the graduates of the Julliard Jazz program play in the band as well. We also can offer a DJ for weddings and corporate events if the client wants to add disco, or any other alternative music for the event.
