Northern Lights Jazz Orchestra Swing Band from Bellingham, WA

The Northern Lights Jazz Orchestra plays the music of the swing era in concert and at dances in Northwest Washington. Formed by saxophonist Paul Sorensen, the NLJO has recently been busy performing with Arthur Alder in his tribute concerts of Frank Sinatra all-time favorites. We also feature Cheryl Jewell as vocalist with the band. Our style is much like the famous Les Brown band with our own interpretations of big band instrumental music - many of the charts written by our leader - Paul Sorensen. If you have enjoyed the Les Brown Band over the years, then the NLJO is sure to please you! We have two books we draw our charts from - one a concert jazz book, the other a swing dance book.
