New to The Bash! The Kim Maguire Jazz Band is a "build-a-band" jazz/swing group specializing in the "Rat Pack" era of swing. Expect a big band swing experience (or classy cocktail sound, your choice) with just a quartet or quintet. The group consists of Piano, Bass, Drums, Sax or Trumpet and of course swingin' vocals. Kim is an extremely versatile singer known for her huge vocal range. If requested, along with her jazz standards a la Frank Sinatra and the whole Rat Pack bunch, she will mix in country a la Patsy Cline, folk/rock such as Bonnie Raitt and Eva Cassidy, even singing her special "opera happy birthday" song. Kim is warm and joyful, able to "read a room" and keep the sounds hot or cool, depending on the mood. A favorite of Seattle jazz venues, Kim is one of the busiest jazz singers in Seattle. Using Seattle's top-tier jazz musicians, Kim can offer an intimate duo or build a fun trio, quartet or quintet, depending on your event needs. Kim is a Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist finalist and has sung professionally for over 20 years, all around the United States. Her clean and joyful style is very similar to the classic swing singers of the 1940' and 1950's, demonstrating a solid swing with extraordinarily beautiful ballads. Having a multi-octave range, Kim uses her classical training to craft arrangements that are highly creative, not only showcasing the vocals, but the many talents of her players . Kim's vast experience allows her to easily guide a client through the process, both musically and logistically. Clients always feel more than secure having her at the musical helm.
