About Vendor
Learn more about this vendor for your event.
STEEL HORIZONS is an instrumental steel drum band that is located in Vineland, New Jersey. We can be hired as one or two steel drummers. We also offer other options that include a violinist and/or a conga player. Depending on your personal taste, all of our formats are ideal for traditional and non-traditional weddings, cocktail hours, corporate events, and parties. Since forming in 2002,STEEL HORIZONS has played for numerous private affairs as well as many public establishments in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. For our performances, we use professional pre-recorded tracks for most songs to provide us with a full band sound. OUR SET UP We have 2 different sound systems that we use: 1) For beach weddings and other small intimate performances (and where electricity is not allowed/available), we use a battery powered PA System. For these types of events, our sound projects where it can be heard but will not be overbearing. 2) For larger events, we use two-1,000 watt speakers that can fill up a big area with sound quite easily. Just let us know, we can turn the volume up or down!! PERFORMANCE AREA Steel drums tend to go out of tune if in direct sun light, especially on a hot summer day during the mid afternoon. So we prefer to be in the shade. We can bring an umbrella or a canopy. We can also set up in your living room, on a boat or a deck, etc.---pretty much anywhere that is stationary. EXTRA MICROPHONE: For beach weddings, ,most officiants don't bring a microphone and a PA system. We can provide both at no additional cost. Our microphone is not wireless so we will have to set up with 50 feet of the officiant. Also, if you are having a party or a celebration and you need a microphone for announcements, we can provide one as well. TRAVEL COSTS We live in South Jersey, but are willing to travel up to 2 1/2 hours in each direction. We have even traveled to Ocean City, Maryland and have used the Cape May/Lewes Ferry as a means of transportation. So for events outside of Cumberland, Salem, Cape May, Atlantic, Gloucester, and Camden Counties, the travel charge is roughly $1.75 per mile. We will do our best to provide you with the best possible quote, but please keep in mind that significant traveling adds a lot more time to the performance day (in addition to the current outrageous price of fuel). SONGLIST You may select any song from our extensive musical repertoire. You may also want a special song to be played at your wedding that is not in our current list. If we don't know it, we will do our best to learn it, BUT it's not included in the fee. We will usually spend between 5 to 10 hours learning each song so that we can capture a 'good vibe' when we perform them.
