About Vendor
Learn more about this vendor for your event.
Sean and his band, Volcano, create a lively, fun, party atmosphere by playing live island/beach/reggae/pop/steel drum music. Sean and his band have more verified bookings and positive reviews than any other steel drum/island band in the southwest United States. One reason they are so popular, is they have a very wide range of musical styles. They don't just play traditional and standard island/steel drum songs such as "Jamaica Farewell", the "Banana Boat Song", the "Hawaiian Wedding Song", "Under the Sea", "Kokomo", "Red Red Wine", and "Margaritaville" like most steel drum bands do. They can also play classic rock and beach songs such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "Another Saturday Night", "Obladi Oblada", "Me and Julio", "Stir it Up", "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay", "Hotel California", "Black Magic Woman", and "Summer in the City". Sean and his band can even play contemporary pop songs such as "Best Day of My Life", "Rude", "I'm Yours", "Sorry" by Justin Bieber, "Attention" by Charlie Puth, "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk, "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, and "One More Night" by Maroon 5. During the holiday season, Sean and his band can also play songs like "Jingle Bells", "Deck the Halls", "Feliz Navidad", "Here Comes Santa Claus", "Let it Snow", "Christmas Island", and "Mele Kalikimaka". Sean and his band have performed at events and locations such as Tommy Bahamas, Wet 'n Wild, Hurricane Harbor, Big Surf, the Phoenix Zoo, the Arizona State Fair, the Desert Botanical Gardens, the Tempe Festival of the Arts, the Chandler Ostrich Festival, the Glendale Glitters Holiday Spectacular, University of Phoenix Stadium, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Gila River Arena, Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, the Paradise Valley Country Club, Moon Valley Country Club, Arrowhead Country Club, the Phoenix Country Club, the Arizona Country Club, Sandbar Mexican Grill, Aunt Chilada's, Manuel's Mexican Restaurants, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Chandler Fashion Center, and Desert Ridge Marketplace. They have performed for the Seattle Sounders MLS Soccer Team, and members of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, California Angels, and Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball teams. Sean and his band have also performed numerous times at every major resort in the Phoenix area including the Scottsdale Princess, The Boulders Resort, The Valley Ho, Arizona Biltmore, The Camelback Inn, The Phoenician, the Arizona Grand Resort, and the J.W. Marriott at Desert Ridge. Sean and his band have performed at events with attendance as small as ten people or as large as one thousand people. For smaller engagements, Sean can perform as a solo musician on steel drums by playing along with prerecorded music tracks. Or, for more energy and variety, there is the option of adding additional live instruments such as the tenor pan steel drum, double second steel drums, triple-cello steel drums, guitar, congas, keyboard, marimba, vibes, a horn section, or drum set by adding one or more members of Sean's band "Volcano". If you are looking for a way to turn your event into a great event, Sean Mireau and the Volcano Island Band is the band to have! Sean Mirrow has been performing as a professional musician since he was 14 years old. Sean has invested thousands of hours and thousands of dollars in order to provide the highest quality music he possibly can. He has spent literally thousands of hours transcribing songs, creating custom musical arrangements, and learning to play the steel drums and other instruments. Sean plays the tenor pan steel drum, the double-second steel drums, double-guitar steel drums, ukulele, marimba, vibes, timpani, drum set, congas, and numerous Latin percussion instruments. The steel drums Sean plays are authentic hand-made instruments imported from the Caribbean island of Trinidad. Sean has spent over 20 years searching for and obtaining the highest quality steel drums he possibly can and personally owns over 25 drums. He started playing steel drums as a member of the Arizona State University "Pandevils" steel drum band. Sean is a degreed musician having studied music at Central Arizona College and Arizona State University. While studying music at ASU, Sean performed in over 50 concerts and recitals as a soloist and as a member of the ASU Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, New Music Ensemble, Steel Drum Band, and numerous jazz combos. Sean has toured the United States and performed as a member of the Sunset Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Tucson, Arizona and as a member of the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from Anaheim, California. Sean has performed in 23 states nationally and his international performance locations include Canada, Turkey, Italy, Greece, and Spain. Steel drums are 55-gallon oil barrels that have been hand-hammered into musical instruments. They come from Trinidad, can cost $500 to $5,000, and must be re-tuned regularly.
