Irish Duo booked and I was told they had sound. Mid-communication it seems. My duo replacements were hired in good faith to professionally carry out protocol in contract. As I have been sick I found them luckily when all other Irish groups were booked. I understand Becky was in Arizona that night and had an assistant in charge. Fees are standard for three hours of music. Local groups in this area compete with rates under scale, which are low to the professional standard. Todays rates are up 20-30% from 10 years ago. Yes, it's obvious a sax player has to move the mask aside when playing on a song, continuous staff interruptions can spoil the musical spirit. We did comply wearing a mask most of the time while playing and on breaks. We were on time and played requests from several groups of very receptive guests. We got many compliments and two residents asked for my card. I don't see how taking my mask off to play sax twice can be noncompliant. We were at least 20 yards away from ppl in a gazebo. Hi Bill, so sorry my back up plan couldn't work at your event. Very rarely ppl have conflicts and cancel on me at the last minute. In many years this has not happened. I'm still feeling the after math if that flu bug. Glad your guests liked my music but I didn't expect them to dance, seeing how they sat there during and after dinner. I also remember the whole room applauding after each of several songs. They didn't show me any need to dance as I've played solo before when folks do dance. We'll make it up to in the future when needed. Thanks for your input. Sincerely, Nick Williams
