Sarah Ragsdale, also formerly known as Zahra Universe, is a singer, pianist, and songwriter. Ever evolving, she has worked in a variety of genres from classical, folk, pop, r&b, and electronic. She has toured and performed live in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa making appearances on major international television networks including BBC World, Univision, France24, and Radio France Internationale. Sarah was the composer and performer of “Sela Sela (Dance Together)” the Official Song of the Africa Cup of Nations for which she received international recognition for this collaboration song of peace and breaking down borders through music. Though much of her commercial work has been pop/electronic, her musical talents are well featured in a raw acoustic setting with the piano where she can display her skills including composition, production, playing by ear, as well as sight-reading sheet music of many genres. Sarah has played and performed hundreds of covers and has a catalogue of hundreds of original works. Sarah combines the keyboard skills of a “Piano Woman” with quick and creative songwriting skills of a true artist. With nightly live performances at the piano, and experience performing for large audiences in a variety of venues around the world, she has an ear for unique and catchy melodies that capture wide audiences.
