Folk & Roll n 1974 Bill Hudson was performing with the likes of Pete Seeger and Rev. Kirkpatrick promoting the clean up the Hudson River. In 1975 Bill moved to Virginia where he kept on writing songs and in 1976 he had his first song, "Wounded Knee" published in Broadside magazine in New York City. In 1977 Bill Moved to Key West FL. where he became known as a songwriter and a real crowd pleaser. Bill was the first musician to play at the local jail there and started a tradition of playing in the jail there. In 1982 Bill moved back to Virginia where he became known as a "high energy performer". In December of 1986 Bill recorded his, "Bill Hudson's Christmas Show" which aired in Italy. For the old time radio show Bill gathered some of the best musicians in the valley. In 1987 Bill went on his first Italy tour, which was so successful he went back in 1988. In 1995 Bill was asked to produce the earth day festival in Harrisonburg, VA. The event drew 5 to 6 thousand people and brought together all parts of the community. It was one of the biggest Earth Day events in the valley. In 1996 Bill was asked to produce the long standing Pipestem Folk Festival at the Pipestem, WV on the grounds of the Appalachian South Folklife Center. In 1997 Bill got together some fine local Appalachian musicians. Sammy Walker, Elaine Purkey, Nat Reese, and many more. For the first time since anyone can remember the festival made money and had a little for the next year. In 1999 Bill released his first CD "Liberty Street" which is receiving airplay around the world. In the winter of 1999 Bill got a spot in the film "The Patriot", a Mel Gibson film. In 2000/2001 Bill covered the east coast and Midwest to promote his CD. Bill was asked to play on Michael Johnathon's "WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour" in Lexington, KY. 2002 Bill started recording his next CD, On the road On the road CD should be out spring in 2007. In 2003 Bill was asked to work for Lester Chambers of The Chambers Brothers because of his skill in booking. In 2005 Bill helped founded the non-profit 501 c-3 organization called The Feel Good Tour, which has given over 1,000 free musical instruments to 4 Gulf Coast and one in WV. In 2015/Fall- Bill will be releasing his new CD, On The Road (Surviving) will 10 new songs 2023 Bill released his new CD, Toshi's Garden. Some of the acts Bill has opened up for are, John Hammond, Fred Eagelsmith, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Jack Hardy, Guy Davis. Bill has also shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen.
