Matt Bizzell Singer Guitarist from Mooresville, NC

Western North Carolina’s favorite Singer/Songwriter, Matt Bizzell, was born on April 26th 1967. He started playing guitar at age 6, and was first influenced by TV and Movie scores and intros from shows such as Hawaii 5-0, Batman, Paramount pictures, 007, Pink Panther, and many more. The music of Ray Charles, Richie Havens, Frank Sinatra, The Doors, YES, ELO, Kansas, Heart, The Police, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and Willie Nelson seemed to pour out of cars and jukeboxes just for him to soak in, and all played a big role in his early childhood inspiration and influence. As a teenager, he began performing in church and in talent shows, then in his twenties delved into coffee shop open mic nights, playing in pool halls, and dive bars. His eclectic songwriting style is Rock and Roll dipped in The Blues, peppered with Roots and Folk flavors, interwoven with great stories that bring his songs to life. Left with making a trail of his own in the North Carolina Mountains, Matt has become renowned for his insightful lyrics and powerful style that captivates audiences. He continues to write and do shows up and down the East Coast, raising eyebrows and bringing smiles wherever he goes.
