Silhouettes by Leona Silhouette Artist from South Berwick, ME

In 2010 I have had the pleasure of creating traditional hand-cut Silhouettes at festivals, weddings, parties, special events, and historic houses throughout New England. I don't do any pre-drawing or shadow tracing, I just look and cut. And I have since added Caricatures to my artist toolbox as well! I love to create flattering and fun caricatures of you and your friends. My Caricaturing style has been called Whimsical, and will delight your party-goers as I create their portraits on the spot, sure to add sparkle and excitement to any party! I can usually cut between 12 to 15 silhouettes per hour and I can draw about 15 to 20 caricatures per hour. I am also now available for virtual gigs via zoom or other platforms as well as in-person gigs where I am prepared to observe social distancing. I live in lower Maine near Portsmouth, NH and have done cut silhouettes and drawn caricatures at many events in the area including Shaker Village in Alfred, ME, Historic York Village, York, ME, Sarah Orne Jewett House and Hamilton House in South Berwick, ME., Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm in Newberry, MA and Beauport House in Gloucester, MA. as well as many local festivals, such as the Strawberry Festival in South Berwick, ME, Shaker Hill Apple Festival in Alfred, ME. and Franklin County Fair in Greenfield, MA. I love doing caricatures at parties, graduations, bah mitzvahs and weddings as well as other events including scenic boat tours and even water parks. Often the Silhouettes and Caricatures I have done at festivals as well as the commissioned work I do through my Etsy Shop and other sources, have prompted people to seek me out year after year to recreate keepsakes of their children as they grow up. I have often offered both Silhouettes and Caricatures at Weddings, Parties and Festivals, and found an equal interest in both styles of portraiture!
