Hi, I'm Ruth Monsell, a lifelong artist located in Charleston, South Carolina from November through April, and the rest of the year in Camden, Maine. I've been capturing a likeness from quick live sittings for many decades, making me one of the most experienced silhouettists in the country. Your guests leave with a favor that's a CUSTOM HEIRLOOM. I'm often told that my work was the hit of the reception. Having a live artist at your affair lends a custom artistic touch and WOWS your guests, making the day especially memorable. The process is very entertaining to watch, while portraits quickly emerge as if by magic, using just scissors. The most frequent comment I hear is "that's AMAZING!" I travel anywhere my transportation and accommodations are covered. I've had bookings from coast to coast and in Canada. I have a THREE HOUR MINIMUM, except for very local or small gatherings. Too many guests would otherwise be disappointed. Each sitting takes about 5 minutes in total. I've had extensive experience at weddings, corporate events, private parties, proms, project graduations, bar and bat mitzvahs, reunions, fundraisers, galleries, craft shows, museums, schools and historical society functions, as well as portraying passengers aboard cruise ships. Working at a wedding is a special honor to me, as I love adding something especially memorable and unique to a couple's Big Day.
