We booked the Red Hot Pokers for our New Year's Eve wedding and they helped us ring it in with style. They were fun, flexible and great musicians. They had people on the dance floor who wouldn't normally be there and kept it up until after midnight. They were professional before, during, and after the wedding and were appropriately accommodating to some requests from our guests. Book these guys if you want a great rock and roll band to celebrate with. Don't book them if you'd rather hear the usual wedding band fare.

The Red Hot Pokers are unreal! Crisp, clean sound. PERFECT. Absolutely impossible to have done a better job....Real nice professional guys who can blow the roof off of the place with pure easy listening roots rock n roll. PS CRAZY SURFUR GUITAR!!!! Pick them for your party and have the 2nd best party ever.....My wedding was the best! LOL.

The Red Hot Pokers were the best decision we made with regard to our wedding reception. They are exceptional musicians who kept everyone dancing right up through the last number of the night. They have a range of music to suit all tastes. They were professional and really nice guys. Everyone came up to us during the reception and after to comment how wonderful their music was. We can't wait to go hear them play in a public venue soon!

The Red Hot Pokers are excellent musicians and a whole lot of fun.
They tailored the play list to just what we wanted. Our "musical" friends were impressed with the Pokers sound, and everyone else had a great time on the dance floor.

Gig was great, I just wished they played for four hours and just didn't stay for four hours. There was alot going on,weather, fire works, etc... it would have been better if they stuck around. They played what was requested well. Maybe our fault for not being perfectly clear.SFRA

The band was very reluctant to turn down the volume; it took 3 tries before there was any discernable difference in the volume, and people still couldn't hear each other talk. This was irritating and not accomodating. They were, however, very accomodating when asked to play an extra hour, which was wonderful.
Other than the volume issue, they were fabulous and just what we wanted.

We appreciate the high rating for this gig, HOWEVER, we must respond to the comment on the volume.
The client requested a lively and upbeat 1st set while her guests were arriving. We were asked to lower the volume twice which we graciously accommodated. With that being said, the client hired us because we are a Rock & Roll band and the guests at the party gave us nothing but positive feedback and had a great time dancing and requesting songs.
PLEASE know that we are a very professional and accommodating band for any type of event.

This is a very good and talented band. They can improve in the business arena, however. They kept calling with scheduling problems and took a long time to get us a contract. Also one of the band members kept demanding beer over the caterer's policy against it. He ended up taking three anyway, over the course of the night. It didn't seem to affect the music, however.

The Red Hot Pokers were very professional before the event. On the night of, they took several long breaks and didn't play for the four hours they were contracted for. The lineup of musicians wasn't as depicted. There was hardly any singing. They left early because one of them wasn't feeling well. They took up a huge portion of our dance floor. One of the reasons that we picked the Pokers was because they aren't solely a wedding band, but a little crowd interaction would have been great to boost the energy of the event. They just weren't enthusiastic, they looked bored most of the time. They are good musicians, they just aren't much of a wedding-type band.

RHP Rocked. These guys did an awesome job and everyone enjoyed their music. Our only issue was that we wanted them to play longer. We agreed to two breaks but 30 mins each seemed like to much. lots of guests left each time they took a break. They also asked to leave at 9:30 even though the event ran until 10PM. There wasnt much of a crowd left but people were still there. They all indicated they wished the band played longer. In hindsight I should have asked them to stay until 10 but I didnt. I am sure they would have accomodated us. I am not sure the long breaks were up for debate. They did play hard but I am not sure 1 Hr of break in a 4 hr performance was needed

In general, the guests really enjoyed the band. They played the type of music we asked them to play, and people danced.
The pre-event communication was sparse, though, which turned out to cause some "flow" issues. The band also wasn't very quick to start playing again once things like speeches ended. This could have been worked out better if they had been quicker to respond to questions and emails ahead of time.

The Red Hot Pokers were awesome! Everyone at the party kept commenting on how amazing the band was. They played a great mix of songs for all ages. They were wonderful to work with and everything went very smoothly from start to finish. I would definitely hire them again for another party - they are very talented and a pleasure to work with.
