TRAVEL DISTANCE IS UNLIMITED! I perform from maine to Western Canada! I perform rock & roll from the 60's to present day. I'm based in The Hamptons area of Long Island , New York during your summer, and home in Byron Bay, Australia during your winter (Our summer). I frequently return to NY for Thanksgiving and Xmas parties. My usual gig is 3 hrs non-stop. That is, no breaks. I feel that once the vibe is happening, there's no point is disrupting that with CD's. As well, my sets are unique. I can combine the completely diverse types of music into one long set: Neil Diamond and Green Day, The Doors and Cab Calloway, Van Morrison/Outkast/Black Eyed Peas. Every song is a surprise. My Main P.A. rig consists of 2 x 12" powered Mains , depending on the venue size. For the smaller "Dinner Party" size affairs, I use 1 or 2 small Udo Roesner DaCapo 75 Acoustic amps. They keep the music in the background, but can fill a room when needed. I dont use any mechanical 'backing tracks' or drum machines. I do use an Australia instrument called a "stomp box" that mimicks a kick drum. This, combined with with my state of the art PA can mimmick a full band. (Please email for Video Demo Links) I also when asked, rig an extra mic so the guests can get in on the act. Recorded music is always provided during set up and break down so you will have a seamless transition to the live music. I am booked well in advance for most weekends in the summertime, so I dont really get to bid on many jobs through The Bash, but it never hurts to ask. Even weekdays book up fast around here. Before booking live music for your event, ask yourself the following: Do you want to hire someone who works a regular "Day Job" for a living, and does music "On The Side", or do you want a music professional who's livelihood is 100% performance based. Of course, you have to consider your budget, and if it's a 'shoestring', then maybe you'd be better off having your nephew play CD's etc. You wouldn't consider a 'budget caterer' for your meals... When prospective clients ring me for a quote, and occasionally balk at the price, I immediately recommend a mate of mine from Nassau Co. who's a UPS driver by day and plays music on days off. He's real good, and I've never had a complaint from his shows. He can do a party for $350 or so. More times than none, they ring back and hire me. Quite simply they want the best. I have a 'no worries' cancellation policy as well. If your party is outdoors, and 'weather permitting', then its quite simple. If the party is called off, its not a problem and you're not out anything. Even if the weather is 'iffy', I'll still show up, and as long as I don't unload, it's totally not a problem. No point in paying for something thats not happening. You're probably out big money for food etc already. I only require deposits on 'out of town' gigs that require special transportation needs ie: Flights, Ferry's etc. Summer:Eastern Long Island Area Winter: (My summer) Byron Bay Australia area. FALL, Spring: Thailand, Bangkok and Koh Samui Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays I am back on Long Island for holiday parties.
