Guests can enjoy authentic Indian fare in this intimate and elegant setting. The Space The small dining room, decorated in deep shades of purple, can accommodate up to 25 people. Designed to feel like an oasis away from busy Times Square, the space features a comfortable lounge area in addition to the dining setup. Guests can relax on plush violet couches while enjoying the cozy ambiance created by lanterns on the tables. The Experience Utsav strives to provide patrons with a taste of India with its food selections. The restaurant offers á la carte or preset menus featuring a range of appetizers, sides, entrees, and desserts. Visitors can savor fine cuisines such as chicken tikka masala, tandoori lamb chops, Nawabi prawns, and vegetable seekh kebab. By providing in-house food and beverage services and even event rentals, the staff aims to ensure that guests have everything they need for each occasion. For larger get-togethers, Utsav also offers their medium and full dining rooms. The Story This restaurant was established in 2000 by Emiko Kothari, an experienced restaurateur. With a chain of nearly 20 Indian restaurants in Tokyo, this venue is her only location in the United States. Ustav, a word stemming from Sanskrit, means “festival.” Managed by her granddaughter Nandita Khanna, this location pays tribute to the rich colors and spirit of India’s many cultural celebrations.
