Spiral Seas, the side project of Cold Weather Company's Steve Shimchick, is a sonic odyssey exploring and mixing multiple genres and moods. A composer, singer, and classically trained pianist, Steve takes inspiration from classical composers (such as Chopin, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff), and neoclassical composers and songwriters (such as Ólafur Arnalds, Ludovico Einaudi, Sleeping at Last, and more). Outside of Cold Weather Company's alternative folk style, Steve offers a mix of original and improvisational meditative, ambient instrumental piano pieces, a welcome addition as the centerpiece or background for a variety of occasions. Depending on the event, Steve can also sing and play (or perform instrumentally) requested covers or originals. You can view a list of covers below for an idea.
