John is from Newcastle, England and first came to the United States in 1980 as a member of the Scottish National Orchestra Chorus. 2020 marks 40 years of making music in the United States as a pianist and organist in a diverse array of venues: concert halls, churches, cruise ships, wedding venues, restaurants and hotels, and private homes. John's repertoire also spans the gamut from classical to music from the movies, sacred and church music, to cocktail piano and jazzy renditions of the Great American Songbook. In 2017 John recorded an MP3 CD: John Redford plays the Great American Songbook -- 138 of the best-loved songs by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Duke Ellington, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, James Van Heusen, and others. You can hear over 70 selections on the free listening website, SoundCloud. A versatile musician with extensive experience accompanying singers and instrumentalists as well as performing solo, John will create a personalized program to enhance your event.
