Andrew Gordon Pianist from Washington, DC

Professional, classically trained and heavily jazz/Broadway influenced pianist in the Washington, DC area. I pursued a double major in Piano Performance and Mathematics at NYU through undergrad, and completed my Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering in December, 2020. Though currently employed full time as an electrical engineer, music is my first love. I competed routinely and successfully through my years of classical training, performed weekly in a midtown NYC piano bar while in college, and as a composer, have premiered original theatrical compositions at Manhattan’s 54 Below, Virginia’s Signature Theatre, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. While I certainly read music, I have perfect pitch and additionally play by ear. I take requests at the piano from singers or other partygoers, specializing in Golden Age Broadway and jazz standards. Repertoire includes but is not limited to the works of Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein, the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Kander & Ebb, Jerry Herman, Irving Berlin, Lerner & Lowe, Comden & Green, Cy Coleman and, of course, Stephen Sondheim.
