Nathan Matthews Percussion Steel Drummer from Charlotte, NC

My name is Nathan Matthews, I am a senior performance/music ed major at Winthrop University. I specialize in various types of percussion, perfect for weddings, gallery openings, coffee houses, dance accompaniment, church services, and private events. I play a range of percussion instruments including Drum Set (rock, funk, R&B, jazz), Mallet Percussion (solo marimba, various orchestral keyboard), World Music (Djembe, Frame Drum, Mbira, Riq, Bodhron), and a range of classic and modern orchestral percussion. For solo playing my set can vary to fit a specific event but I usually offer solo Indian frame drumming, Traditional Shona Mbira playing, Rock and Blues songs transcribed to Mbira w/vocals, and small modern solo percussion works. If you are looking for an intimate and non-traditional solo act for your event I hope you will reach out. I am also available for paid group performing, chamber and orchestral ensembles, and musical theater work. I also am available to teach lessons. Also willing to travel much more than 10 miles.
