PEANUT “..a multi-instrumentalist who usually plays guitar on her acoustic/coffeehouse gigs (and drums with her band Mother May I). She has a sultry, understated R&B cast to her voice and a good bit of musical sophistication in her songwriting.” -Bart Grooms (Black & White Magazine) A featured artist on the cover, and in “The Snake Skin,” a publication of musicians, music patrons, independent thinkers, and artisans. Peanut continues to win over fans with her charismatic stage presence, and powerful vocal style. As a tribute to her influences, Peanut’s CD mixes the sounds of 1970’s funk, rock & roll, with a pinch of folk. If you can imagine a musical collage of Prince, Macy Gray, with a splash of folk, you will have Peanut’s sound. Known for her rock solid drumming, Peanut is feature as a lead vocalist in her band, Mother May I. She is currently touring clubs primarily in solo acoustic/coffeehouses, showcases, and festivals, in support of her self released CD debut, “Purple and Green Walls,” which was written, performed, recorded, and produced by the multi-instrumentalist in her home digital recording studio. In a time when major labels have been scrambling to sell records. Peanut’s self-released CD is making an impact. Released in fall of 2004, more that 1,000 copies sold in the first month. Peanut has begun work on her next studio project. A two-disc album featuring both, acoustic, and funk/rock
