Dr. La Toro Yates Motivational Speaker from West Orange, NJ

La Toro Yates, Ph.D. is an adjunct professor, author, motivational speaker, and consultant. He serves as the Executive Director for Enrollment Management at the City University of New York- York College. His previous roles include serving as the Chief Enrollment Management officer at 4-year private and public institutions, Multicultural recruiter, and Director of Admissions at an Independent Day School. His research explores urban high school students' perceptions of the cultural and structural factors that may influence their post-secondary educational aspirations and career plans. As a first-generation college student and Jersey City native he continued in education to earn a double Master's degree (MBA/MIS) from St. Peter's University and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University. He has presented at Educational conferences, teaches college courses in Educational Leadership, Business, and Policy, and in the process of publishing his academic research. His most recent endeavor is to work with urban School Districts to create a curriculum to expose elementary and middle students to the college choice process and career exploration.
