Mariachi Amigos de Nuevo México is one of the most versatile and flexible bands in New Mexico. They offer an entertainment customized accordingly to the needs of the clients. They have the options of a small intimate Mariachi trio to a full Mariachi band of 7-8 members. Omar Villanueva is the lead vocalist of the group. He studied guitar at a music conservatory in Toluca Mexico, and has a Master's degree in guitar from the University of New Mexico. Omar has won competitions as a guitarist and a singer throughout his musical career. Mariachi Amigos has a very festive set list customized to the taste of the client from traditional repertoire to upbeat festive danceable music, oldies, rancheras, boleros, cumbias etc. They also play requests at their parties. Mariachi Amigos have played in hundreds of events throughout New Mexico, including weddings, quinceañeras, birthday parties, public events and funerals. They have also traveled and played in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma. Mariachi Amigos has become one of the favorite Mariachi bands in New Mexico specially in the Albuquerque-Rio Rancho areas. People know when they hire Mariachi Amigos, they are getting a group with good vibe, professionalism, flexibility and that plays and sings passionately.
