I'm a Heretic. Perhaps I should explain. Most people see heresy as a bad thing, but that's only true if you are a frightened and weakly establish power. Heresy is the root of all leadership because the root of heresy is a Greek word meaning “To Choose.” Heresy isn't bad, it's conscious choice and isn't that what we want everyone around us to live? Unless you are a dictator and you are completely threatened by ideas, learning, creativity, possibility and opportunity, (in which case I'm probably not your guy) then you want people around you who think, who choose, who question and who have the courage to lead from a place of inner strength and conviction. Leadership isn't a position or a title or authority. Leadership is a behavior, an attitude and an action. That quintessential question of whether leaders are born or made is no mystery at all. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was born with the gift of leadership. The problem is that too few have the courage to unwrap the present. I help people believe in the power of their own leadership, regardless of their position, and to find the courage to speak truth to power (even if that power is their own inner critic), and to cultivate the strategies to truly be human in a human world; not blind followers, but active leaders of their own life whether they are an executive, middle manager, part-time employee, supervisor, stay at home mom or volunteer. Imagine what will be possible when everyone sees themselves as a leader and steps into that behavior, attitude and action. Pretty cool, huh?
