Skylark Jazz Band from Norfolk, VA

Skylark provides sophisticated, funky grooves different from your run of the mill top 40 or swing groups. We play a kind of swing/funk, danceable and listenable by everyone. You'll hear songs you know, but with new, modern arrangements, along with your favorite Sinatra type material. Our versions of swing material are truly swinging, dynamic tunes, not the typical background jazz. (although we can certainly do a background Jazz combo—-still swinging hard at low volumes) Our players are the very best in the area. Many were staff instructors at the Navy School of Music for decades. They can read and play any style of music. Skylark is available in a variety of configurations from duo/trio to a full eight piece band. We can play a full night of straight ahead jazz, Sinatra type swing or our own style of funk/hip hop/ swing!
