Shalini Sings Singer from Palm Springs, CA

Born in the deserts of California, Shalini Varghese captivates her audience with sweet vocals and riveting melodies coming straight from her soul. Her versatility in musical genres span from jazz and R&B to folk and classical, with vocal sensibilities of Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Aaliyah. Shalini demonstrated an aptitude for singing and musical performance at a young age, mimicking Paul Young, Michael Jackson, and Tina Turner. She delivered her first live, on-stage performance as Ariel in 'The Little Mermaid' at the age of seven and since then, she has honed her skills and performed in venues both in the States and internationally. She placed first in a vocal competition for her rendition of "On my Own," from the musical Les Miserable and was a finalist in a National Broadway competition called "Wanna Be in Rent". Shalini was also granted the great honor of singing the National Anthem and Whitney Houston's, "Greatest Love" at a charity event in front of dignitaries, Secretary of State, Colin Powell, Congresswoman, Mary Bono, and former President, George Bush, when she was in high school. In 2016, she also performed the National Anthem for a WNBA game at the Staples Center. During her residence in Los Angeles, Shalini has become an in-demand performing artist. She has lit up the stage at hot venues all over LA and Hollywood, including the Key Club, Cinespace, House of Blues, and Sofitel. She has also appeared on radio shows around the world. Along with being a live performer, Shalini is a seasoned recording artist and songwriter. In addition to performing in a variety in musical genres, Shalini can sing in different languages and loves to experiment with new styles of music like electronic dance music (EDM,) house, and positive world. One of her more recent collaborative projects is with producer and co-writer, Savvy. In this imminent EP, you will hear fresh beats with a throwback R&B and hip-hop vibe that will be sure to make you groove. Her latest release with Savvy is called, "What it Means to Be," a song meant to inspire those to be connected to one another and live in a more peaceful and loving way.
