The Rubi Lee Quintet Jazz Band from Sacramento, CA

Our swinging quintet plays a variety of tunes from the Great American Songbook and other jazz standards, ranging from the 40s to the 80s. Our singer, Rubi Lee, has a powerful, velvety voice ideally suited to classics sung by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and others of those generations. Mike Hoover, our drummer, sings as well, offering breathy interpretations of stalwarts like "Moondance" and "Hit The Road, Jack." The quintet is filled out with the inventive playing by pianist Dave Erickson, bassist Mike Seto, and Jim Buntin, who plays trumpet and flugelhorn. Our sound is smooth, modern and rich. We delight in playing tunes that our audiences will recognize and sing along with.
