Mario Abney & The Abney Effect™ Jazz Band from Chicago, IL

The Abney Effect™ is a well known high-energy Jazz/Soul/Funk/Brass Band based in Chicago led by me; Master Musician, Trumpeter, and Entertainer, Mario Abney. My roots are in Chicago but I established The Abney Effect in 2010 while living in New Orleans. After seeing The Hot 8 Brass Band's live performance I was inspired to move my band to NOLA and the rest is history. We have since produced amazing concerts at well known establishments all over the country and overseas. Our most noteworthy performances were on Good Morning America in 2019 and 2021 as we performed my hit singles “Rollin” and “Instant Grits”. We are now back in my hometown, Chicago and are still delighting audiences every where. You can see us live at Andy's Jazz Club Chicago on any Tuesday night in April & May from 6pm-9:30pm.
