THE ESSENTIALS The Essentials are a classic jazz group, specializing in the soulful, sophisticated sound of Blue Note Records and rooted in the standards of the Great American Songbook, swing be-bop, hard bop, bossa nova and more. Our members have roots in LA jazz scene, AND years of experience playing in clubs worldwide. The Essentials offer a combination of talent and professionalism to help make your event relaxed and fun from set-up to load-out. LIVE JAZZ FOR ANY OCCASION The Essentials bring a stylish mood to your event by performing an eclectic mix of Classic Jazz Standards, Be-bop, Hard Bop, Bossa Nova and more. From a small duo to a full 5-piece band, we are flexible enough to fit any situation, from a corporate event to wedding to casual backyard party. EQUIPMENT The Essentials are a totally self-contained band with our own sound system and pre-recorded background music to play during band breaks. We can provide a microphone for your speeches, toasts and announcements.

Look no further- THIS IS THE JAZZ BAND FOR YOUR EVENT! The Essentials were the *best musicians* we have ever contracted for an event. They absolutely made the party. Incredibly talented, the most beautiful music and their presence created the most elegant ambiance at our event. Also-they handled everything- it was zero stress in preparation- they were there and set up before time, they orchestrated the entire play list and were incredibly adaptable to the environment of our party, guests etc. 7 partygoers asked me for their contact info to book them! We are so grateful to them for making our event unforgettable!

We hired this group at our Holiday Party and they were great. It lightened the mood and everyone was really happy about it. The only hiccups we had were getting the whole group as a whole at first. I misread the invoice so we were only going to get the band at first. Make sure to read your contract! Andrew was understanding and send us a new invoice/contract right away. The second hiccup we had was paying. Since our company only uses credit cards it was hard to get the payment to them quickly because it was not their preferred method. Luckily we were able to work it out with our account department. They are wonderful, and you should hire them for your next event!
