About VendorÂ
Learn more about this vendor for your event.
The Hollywood Rhythm Kings are very experienced, professional musicians. As soon as you hear our samples, the difference is immediate. You will hear the same top-level performance at your special event. In 2013 we were chosen by The National Endowment For The Arts to play play music from "The Gatsby Era" at a series of venues across Southern California. We guarantee to provide the utmost professional standard. We show up ahead of time, looking & acting professionally, providing all the necessary equipment needed for our performance. We have been in business for over 13 years, performing at more than 1100 events. It is possible that we have already played at the location where your event takes place! We know what it takes to provide just the right music for your event, and all the aspects associated with it. For all these reasons our rates might appear slightly higher than the cheapest music solutions available to you such as hiring students, non-professionals musicians, DJ / boom box option, etc. We believe however that we offer very reasonable and competitive rates for the highest caliber of music making provided by our group. Based as the classic rhythm section of piano, bass and drums, we can also add guitars, saxophones, horns and more, depending on your needs. We play Jazz- from background to danceable, from Dixieland to Miles Davis, 20's, 30's, 40's Era Swing to Smooth Jazz into today, along with Pop, Classic Rock and Blues. We love what we do, and we take pride in playing music for people! The countless number of positive comments from our clients speak for themselves. Kerry Crutchfield (drums/percussion) has been playing drums professionally for over 30 years. He has kept the beat for dozens of jazz, blues, rock and show bands in clubs and venues throughout the U.S. Kerry headlined The Sacramento Blues Society Festival with Robert Lucas, Luke & The Locomotives. You can hear him on the Curbfeelers "Bellflower Mood" CD, nominated by Living Blues Magazine as the Record of the Year 1994. Kerry has also covered the "Legends" style shows at Harrah's , Mirage and Treasure Island in Las Vegas as well as casinos throughout the U.S. He has produced The Hollywood Drum Show for its 16 year run in Los Angeles. Kerry recently completed a 4 week Gig as the house drummer on the world's largest privately owned yacht "The World", a cruise ship sized yacht sailing from Mexico to Alaska. Martin Blasick (Bass/Guitar) An accomplished guitar player and bassist, Martin studied at the University Of North Texas in jazz improvisation, classical composition and pop. Martin has provided scores, songs, cues, arrangements and productions for a diverse array of shows including big band jazz for the TV series Army Wives, and he produced "Miracles Happen" , winning a Gold Record for the soundtrack album for Princess Diaries 2. Martin has produced celebrity vocal tracks for Brendan Fraser, Mary Steenburgen, Denise Richards, Rodney Dangerfield, Denis Leary, Anne Hathaway, Heather Graham and more. His music appears in Oceans 12 & 13, The Matador, Bedazzled, Ugly Betty, Lost, The Reaper, Kinsey, Samantha Who and many more. Martin has also appeared on the hit HBO series "The Newsroom". George Woo (piano, keyboards, vocals is a professional musician and music teacher in the city of Los Angeles. George is very accomplished as a jazz pianist and musical director, and is well regarded by his peers in the Jazz Piano world and never fails to delight audiences with his piano solos. George studied Afro Cuban Music while attending CSU Los Angeles. Bill Keis (piano/keyboards) attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston Mass, and shortly thereafter moved west to Los Angeles, beginning a long teaching, recording and performing career. For 2 years he accompanied such performers as Arsenio Hall, Jay Leno, Richard Prior and Billy Crystal at The Comedy Store in Hollywood. Bill also recorded 8 albums of TV music for Capitol Records, and played keyboards on Howie Mandell's TV show "Bobby's World". Several of Bill's compositions were used on the TV show "General Hospital"
