Whether you are looking for a an exciting jazz group for your festival/club or classy music for your special event, Fred Cantu Music can accommodate you. We have professional groups ranging in size from duo to quartet or even big band. We also have different themed shows. Our regular jazz show features Fred Cantu on trumpet and can be exciting and include Fred’s original music, or classy relaxed standards for your event. The Vocal jazz show can be Fred on vocals or vocals and trumpet. We do a Sinatra tribute show or the Standards Revisited show which features the great music of Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole etc. and we refresh it. All musicians are full time professionals. We give you the sound and look for your event. Our ensembles are as comfortable headlining your festival as we are playing classy music for your private event. We can also provide the third option of the Fred Cantu Latin jazz ensemble which we perform jazz with Afro Cuban latin rhythms. Our ensembles have performed around the United States for many years from private parties to opening acts for headliners to being the headliner ourselves. Fred Cantu Bio: Vocalist, trumpeter, bandleader, educator, composer, Fred Cantu is one of the busiest musicians on the scene today. Fred, as recent nominee for the Chicago Music awards has been featured with the Buddy Rich Big band, Fred also performs as a regular member of Grammy nominated Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdes’ Ensemble. He also tours worldwide with the Elvis Tribute Tour for Elvis Presley Enterprises. Fred’s vocals and trumpet playing can be heard and seen every Sunday on WGN’s TV show Singsation, which reaches over a million viewers each week. As a vocalist and trumpeter Fred has been a featured artist at the Chicago Jazz Fest, Viva Chicago, Telluride Jazz Fest, Aspen Snow Mass Fest, Detroit Jazz Fest, and Sangria fest. His trumpet can also be heard on many recordings from Chicago, New York, and Las Vegas. In addition, Fred leads his own 13 piece Big Band (The Fred Cantu Big Band) which performs regularly around the Chicagoland area. Fred continues to perform a vigorous schedule that includes guest artist appearances, clinics, recording sessions, touring, and shows around his native Chicagoland area. Fred released his second album M.F.G. in 2021. Fred is currently working on his third album which will feature his vocals and trumpet.
