Al Fresco is a jazz ensemble – piano (keyboard), saxophones and flute, bass and drums – with years of experience playing in the greater DC area. The group's eclectic repertoire includes show tunes, standards, bebop and popular Latin tunes composed or performed by George Gershwin, Duke Ellingotn, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Stevie Wonder and the Beatles among others. The music we offer is sophisticated swing, easy listening, and suitable for background accompaniment or dancing. The members of the group are musicians who project a friendly and professional demeanor at all times. We enjoy what we do, welcome requests and strive to create an entertaining environment to enhance your venue or special occasion. We are available as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet and we include a male or female vocalist as requested.

This group somehow managed to make our father’s 80th elegant, yet easy. Their range of music and talent seemed boundless. Everyone, from the two-year-old to the 82-year-old had a lovely time. From the ambient music while we ate that was just soft enough to allow conversations between friends reuniting after decades - to the little bit of “swing” that got us on the dance floor to practice our dips. It was perfect. THEY were perfect. Highest recommendations….

Paul Schnur and his group, Al Fresco were perfect for my event, a birthday party with 70 attendees. I needed a trio that could play smooth jazz. They provided a keyboard, base and sax and their repertoire encompassed old standards and newer pieces. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. I would hire them again.
