Whiskey Sunday is LA's hardest working Irish/Americana band. Instrumentation includes, fiddle, mandolin, bodhran, guitar, banjo, drums and upright-bass. Whiskey Sunday plays traditional Irish tunes and ballads along with modern Irish classics from bands like The Waterboys, The Pogues, Flogging Molly, Mumford and Sons etc! Irish-American songwriters not forgotten in the Whiskey catalogue include Bruce Springsteen, CCR, The Band and many more. In addition, the Whiskey Sunday catalogue of originals revved up folk songs will put you right at home. Los Angeles based Whiskey Sunday is Patrick Joseph Rieger, Jesse Olema, Chad McKinsey, Bryan Dobbs and Vito Gutilla. Rieger, from the icy-backstreets of Minneapolis, formed the band in 2012, combining his Americana roots with a hearty pour of revved up Irish-folk, prairie winds, and river-side cabin-hymns. Whiskey Sunday has opened for James Fearnley of The Pogues, Flogging Molly's Ted Hutt and Marc Orrell of Dropkick Murphys. They released "Holy Water" in 2014, on Tam O'Shanter Records, the definitive heartland story for the Southern California audience. Music that asks you to pour something single-malt, sit on the porch, and sip reverently. *******.***
