Being blinded and a survivor of Brain Surgery has allowed me to see a lot more than I ever had. This led to someone that used to consider himself "not a reader" to not only being "a reader" but also a published author. My self-help book is based on my story of how I was able to overcome adversity, see through my blindspots and have a greater vision for my life. The title for the book is Sometimes It DOES Take a Brain Surgeon. My purpose is to motivate and inspire audiences to thrive with what they have today. A Radical Vision is an organization that was formed by seeing through our blindspots. And, it has allowed me to show others how they can do the same. It's all about getting out of your own way and quieting negative voices that we hear in our head. They're call "Self-Limiting Beliefs" because they keep you from reaching your full potential. We'll talk about how you can identify them, inspect them and overcome them. Only then will you be able to thrive. There are 3 major phases that I see people through. They are Blindness, Sight and Vision. We work our way through these phases my first identifying our blindspots. Then we view our self-limiting beliefs. Finally we obtain a vision, not only for ourselves but also for others. Sample reference below. To Whom It May Concern, It is a gift when someone enters your life and makes a powerful impact. One so strong that as you develop your own goals and continue on your journey, you often reflect on what he would do. I am blessed to have developed a relationship with Mr. Brian Wagner through coaching his wonderful son, Colin, and through his servant leadership as a Booster Trustee for our Cross Country team at Hilliard Darby High School. I believe that the single most important daily decision a person can make is their attitude. Attitude is a choice and when right, no barrier is too high and no dream is too big. Although Brian has faced tremendous adversity with his health and vision, it is his attitude that has allowed him to persevere, be a catalyst for others and strive valiantly to accomplish his lofty goals. Brian brings an energy and enthusiasm that is uncommon. It produces a joy and fire that ignites others to dig deeper, want more, endure longer and follow-through. When Brian enters a room, his presence generates a positive energy that resonates mind, body and soul. A staple example of his energetic inspiration is his vocal encouragement at our meets, "Go Darby" and "Go Wagner" that triggers a spark and joyful grin for every member of our team. Brian humbly accepted an opportunity to speak to our team during our fall season. His message of hope and overcoming adversity connected with our student-athletes at a deep level. Through his experiences and struggle, he openly illustrated how his attitude allowed him to view his adversity as a blessing. He is a living example to all that we do have a choice and that attitude and faith can allow one to overcome anything that life may throw your way. Brian leads by serving with an openness and vulnerability that encourages reflection and growth. As he continues to venture on his journey, I am confident that those lucky enough to connect with him on their path will be better.
