About Vendor
Learn more about this vendor for your event.
"Michael was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He arrived early to set up, engaged the audience, and performed beautiful renditions of well-known hits as requested. The audience loved his music and stage presence and he even stayed after chatting with a few of the residents. We will definitely hire him again in the future. Highly recommended." R. "Great communication. We love his music choices and professionalism." K.K. - Michael performs on nylon and steel string guitar doing instrumentals and songs with vocals. He has performed events for Chevrolet, Ping Golf Corp, Oscar Meyer, Wells Fargo et al. Michael has crafted his performances to specialize in weddings and special events. He has performed his own concerts and opened for Herbie Hancock, Tom Scott and Scott Cossu as well. Michael's been performing weddings/events since 1988 in Washington and Oregon from The Dalles and Bend, Or. to Cannon Beach, Or. northern border of Washington to southern border of Oregon. His genre is Classical, Spanish Classical Spanish/Flamenco, Celtic, music of the 20's to the 50's, Bossa Nova, Brazilian, traditional Latin, Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, standards, 60's and 70's, Folk, Rock, Country, Blues, instrumentals with pop vocals. Michael loves to sing and has a vocal song list that most likely has your favorite tunes. Michael also uses a vocal harmonizer that adds harmonies that are truly awesome, like "Seven Birdges Road" by The Eagles. All the voices are there. He also uses a looper (recorder) that creates a one of a kind, unique, live composition. That's very special! Michael uses pro backing tracks that he plays the melody and improvises along with. He can sound like a full band or a small duo or trio. Michael also uses a drum machine that gets all the guests tapping their feet or up dancing. Having said all that Michael is fully capable of only solo acoustic guitar with no other electronics. You can taylor your event by hand picking your favorite song from his song list. Songs not on the list are always welcome. Even though Michael has released four Cd's of original compositions and one of cover songs and a Christmas Cd, he still feels his wonderful clients want popular songs to enhance their event. Imagine an evening of original music that most likely no one's heard yet or an evening of popular songs that bring back the best of memories and will stay with them long after the event is over. Even still he's had lots of requests for his own original songs. Michael bases his success on his variety of styles and his musical approach to each and every song, his great attitude and willingness to work with the client to make each event a success. He'll even play a little longer so as not be a clock watcher. Don't be surprised if he doesn't take a break at all for he loves to perform. And now a little more about Michael. He has received world wide airplay from the US, Canada, Britain to Japan. Local radio station in Portland, Or. KMHD FM 89.1 has aired his music since 1988 and KINK FM 102 radio. since 1991. His music is featured on "KINK Lights Out 9 and 10". Proceeds from sales go to the Oregon Food Bank. Michael and co-writer Kenyon Matthews won an American Eagle Award from the CMAA in 1996 for "Songwriter of the Year". Michael's recording "Come back to Sorrento" from his release "Amor" is used in a sitcom in Canada called "Alice, I Think". He released a Christmas CD called "Acoustic Christmas" in November 2006. And from that release the American Greetings Corporation is interested his recording of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" in a John Lennon Christmas ornament. American Greetings Corporation was unable to clear the rights to use "Happy Xmas (War is Over)", so it didn't happen. All of his 55 recorded songs can be found on popular download sites: itunes, Musicforte, Rhapsody, etc. Currently he's recording songs he composed and performed at weddings. This new release is titled "Together As One". He has released five singles so far. Michael is always consistent in creating a wonderful and stress-less environment of musical excellence. A few clients have said, "The music with Michael was the easiest to take care of, stress free.". With more than thirty years of performing experience you'll receive the best professional music service you'd expect. Here's a quote: "Michael plays with passion that is so consistently missing from music these days. Listen to his writing. Listen to his guitar playing. You'll have a tough time finding one better". Kevin Welch former Music Director KINK Radio 102fm, Portland, Oregon.
