"PHUNKPLAYAH & The Faculty Of Funk specialize in high energetic, quality, GROWN FOLKS MUSIC" ......taking you though a journey of the Dance/Funk/R&B/Pop hits of the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond. The Faculty consist of players that have recorded on platinum and gold recordings and have shared the stage with some of the top perfomers in areas of R&B, Jazz, Pop/Rock and FUNK. The crowds favorite is "Phunkplayah's" perfomance on the "Talkbox" and his special tribute to Roger Troutman while also pumping Rick James, Prince, The Time, Parliment/Funkadelic, Phil Collins, Hall & Oats, Steve Miller Band, Kool & The Gang and many many others. Kirby Hamilton aka "PHUNKPLAYAH" has shared the stage with such artists as Frankie Beverly & Maze, Bootsy's Rubber Band, The Emotions, Ice Cube, One Way, The Dramatics, Marvin Gaye, Vince Neil, Rufus' (founder/keyboadist) Kevin Murphy, Roger & Zapp, Phil Upchurch, and has recorded with "Brick" (70s Funk Band), Kevin Murphy (Rufus) and the legendary Dr. Dre' and Snoop Doggy Dog. "Phunkplayah's" alter ego Kirby Hamilton, has a smoother, more mellow side, bringing that Smooth Jazz, Latin Jazz, and JazzFunk which has work quite well for "Meet & Greets", Dinner Sets, Wine and Cheese tasters, and many other upper scale, low key mellow events. This works especially well as an intro for weddings and alumni functions. DJ also included if needed....we cover it all.
