James Brooks Folk Singer from Calgary, AB

I am a solo performer. I sing, play acoustic guitar, harmonica, ukulele and some piano. I play a lot of older music like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. I do however, have some newer material as well like Coldplay, Lighthouse, Green Day and Mumford and Sons. A good number of songs I play are soft and melodic and suit a coffee shop atmosphere more than a bar. I have some up-tempo songs too of course. I usually play a three hour set with no breaks. Ever. Once I start, I don't stop. I play around Calgary as often as I can and I have been a regular performer at Jacqueline's Bistro for about five or six years now. Every time I play Jacqueline's, I have at least two tables that stay the entire time I'm playing. They don't leave until I'm done. I love that. I have also played house gigs where I set up my equipment right in the living room and play. I have been playing music my whole life. I spent many years playing in bands and now that I have a family, I prefer to play solo because rehearsal time is easy to manage. Hire me to perform for you and I will not disappoint.
