For music that awakens the heart and speaks of respect for our Earth home, consider the song of the Native American flute. Werner John Flutewalker is a master performer, flute maker and recording artist available now for your event. Classically trained, versatile, and open to inspiration of the moment, Werner offers Native flute moods from deeply meditative to light and joyous; a moving version of "Amazing Grace" on the 1300-year-old Anasazi flute; the hushed magic of an ancient ocarina at a special place in your ceremony. Demo CD available. BIO: Werner John Flutewalker is a multitalented musical artist and artisan. Since 1987 he's been creating performances, compositions, recordings and musical instruments which help people relax and reconnect with their roots. Werner's classical training, affinity for the simple joys of wood flutes, and love for the land have found their way into unique musical offerings. Over 1,200 North American Indian style flutes, designed and handcarved by the artist, have found their places in the lives of often first-time flute players. Werner's recordings, beloved among those seeking relief from life's stresses, are offered at his shows and in Native stores to the tune of a quarter million sold. And Werner's unique "Flutewalker Story Concerts" showcase the simple flutes that accompanied humans on our journey for millennia, while exploring deep connections between music... the human spirit... and the natural world. Werner John Flutewalker's mission is to bring these voices of ancient resonance to life. Invite him to your special event and you and your guests will never forget the peace and beauty of his musical gift. Located in the Hudson Valley, NY and willing to travel. Werner has designed Native flutes resistant to these effects, keeping the tone strong and pure. Types of performance: Werner is a seasoned performer who enjoys providing music for church, wedding, and memorial/funeral services, school programs, ambiance for restaurants and dinner parties, and on-stage full length Story Concert presentations featuring the flute types above. Werner also speaks on the topic of Conscious Evolution, here and there pulling out a surprise flute to illustrate a point. He also gives Native American flute playing workshops at all levels. "Werner John's presentation as a guest in our pulpit at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany captivated the congregation. He wove commentary on the fragility of our planet with beautiful soaring, sometimes haunting, sometimes playful original melodies performed on flutes made from his own hand. Werner is a gently persuasive troubador bringing a message of responsible stewardship to the human community." -Al De Salvo, Albany, NY
