A Splash of Sunshine Face Painter from Bradenton, FL

Featured in the 'Bradenton Hearld' for her art work and known throughout the community for her work with children, professional Face Painter and Art Instructor Dawn (Sunshine) Gurtner lovingly and patiently creats works of art on happy little faces. Known for her 'Sunset Face' with flowing palm trees and sparkling water and twinkling 'butterfly Faces' Gurtner uses only the best grade and child-safe products. Art lessons such as jewelry making, soap making, glass painting, clay critters, fabic painting, drawing and painting, etc., are also available for parties!! Sunshine is the face artist for Sarasota's Van Wezel and has done face painting for the University of South Florida, The South Florida Museum (Snooty's birthday party), The Sarasota Jungle Gardens, The Sarasota Reading Festival, Braden River Animal Hospital, Braden River Elementary, Manatee County Fair, St. Joseph's Carnival in Lakeland, and many other festivals, corporate events, and private parties in Tampa bay and beyond. Gurtner is also a working artist doing custom people and pet portraits from photos and has won numerous awards for her art. Her wall murals include the undersea scene at Latitudes at the Sarasota Hotel and Marina, the big panther on wall of the Police Athletic League in Manatee County (Panther done with the kids), the door on the Manatee Players theatre, the window art of MVP sports and countless others. Her paintings and 3-d works of art have been featured in a local gallery and in the Manatee Library System but her most favorite canvas to paint on is that of a child's face! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing them smile in the mirror! Sunshine offers children of all ages summer and winter art camp for everything from drawing to soap making. These classes are also available for after-school programs, home-school groups, the scouts, and church groups.
